Last week in Rome, I had the pleasure of sharing work on the book about Pope Leo XIV published in Italian by Morcelliana and translated into English by Liturgical Press @litpress: first on September 16 at the Italian Embassy to the Holy See, and then on September 18 during an audience with Pope Leo XIV, alongside the "Centro Studi Leone XIV," on whose scientific committee I serve.

Today we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. This marks the beginning of the Season of Creation – observed by Christians of various denominations – whose theme this year is “Living Water.” As I recalled in the Message for this Day, caring for our common home calls for a conversion of heart, so that what has been used to bring about destruction may instead be directed toward life. I invite everyone to join in prayer and action, that we may become channels of the living water of God’s peace, refreshing our wounded world.

in pope Leo's message to the Asian bishops a strong emphasis on unity, the major ecclesiological theme of the pontificate as I argue in my forthcoming book @litpress (publication date August 15)

Featured Book. Lohfink argues that Enlightenment goes back far before the 1600's to Israel. He argues for a faith both rational and open to mystery, deepened by Jesus and the church. I've read 3 of his books and appreciate his thoughtful devotion. Glad to get this from @litpress

I spent this whole weekend reading four volumes in Thomas Merton’s Initiation into the Monastic Tradition series published by @litpress. And it has been the most inspiring, edifying, and spiritually rewarding weekend in a very, very long time. Take time for contemplation.
