He fails to mention that for 40 years, New Zealanders have been able to enrol right up until midnight before election day. The last two elections we could even enrol on election day. It’s a massive backwards step that many people won’t know about until they try vote.
Luxon on the campaign trail today, last day to enrol in NZ election: "Kiws are twice as smart as Australians so I'm sure we can manage, I'm sure we can get enrolled 13 days before an election." (Australians voting in federal elections have to enrol at least 26 days before)

Took a wander around the AI and Tech precinct in Pazhou district Guangzhou last night. Home to the GZ offices of AliBaba, TenCent, Xaomi, and Douyin (TikTok). Of course many older commercial and residential precincts about as well. After 20 years of regular business and extended recreational travel within China I remain utterly dumbfounded that the NZ govt is spending a even a cent of taxpayer $$ preparing to “deter” and rehearse for military conflict with China. If you have the means and haven’t already - visit China and learn about its history and society.

One in four Kiwi households struggled to pay their power bill in the past year. My retired Dad living just on the pension is one of them, meanwhile, the major electricity companies’ latest combined half-year profits were more than half a billion dollars. campaigns.consumer.org.nz/en…

At first, I thought each square represented one child killed in Gaza. But each square actually represents TEN children.

Tel-Aviv was not built on “empty sand dunes” Palestine was not “a land without a people” and Zio settlers did not “make the desert bloom” Had these settlers turned the camera behind them, the beautiful Palestinian city of Yaffa would sprawl before their eyes Tel-Aviv is a myth

You write this because you are a racist, filled with hate against Jews. Behold the founding of Tel Aviv on empty sand dunes, displacing no one. Dizengoff, who has a central square named after him, hoped the city would be a model of modern Jewish-Arab peace. Now do Jerusalem, which means something in only one language: Hebrew. It means City of Peace. When you claim these places rightly belong to someone else, QED you hate Jews, history, and the Bible.

The massacre of the girls elementary school pupils (ages 8 to12) in Iran, now stands at one hundred and eighty five. Any person attempting to justify this unprovoked obscenity is a psychopath.

I work in a mainstream High School with the highest proportion of Māori students in Wellington. Every Thursday I do duty with our beautiful Learning Support kids. There is nothing more despicable than rich MPs destroying these kids' presents and futures.
Replying to @CLRenney
Material poverty is particularly bad for tamariki Maori (25.1%) and Pacific children (31%). Material poverty is nearly double the rate for disabled children (26.9%) as against 14.3% for the general population. None of these indicators is improving fast enough.

anyone else remember when a NZ politician sent a text to cancel a major procurement and cost the country $600 million? is there any other time in NZ history when an MP would've *got away with that*?

Visited #Rafah crossing today with Mary Robinson. Saw trucks w/ medical & food supplies which had been blocked from delivering to #Gaza. Heartbreaking that near where we were, people are killed at food distribution sites & children die of starvation. The war must end. @TheElders
