Software Factory for Product Teams (@ycombinator P26) - helping PMs, designers and ops make quality PRs to your existing codebase.

We’re launching the missing team layer for AI-powered development 🚀 The SDLC was built around coding. Coding has changed, and the SDLC must be updated. Lightsprint makes agentic development collaborative with visual plan mode, parallel cloud agents and PR preview environments. Try now: lightsprint.ai
Lightsprint (@lightsprintai) is a collaborative platform that helps teams plan visually, manage cloud agents in parallel, preview changes live and ship product reliably. Congrats on the launch, @benversel, @HengHongLee, and @bencxr! ycombinator.com/launches/QSs…

Coding agents can build almost anything now. The hard part is making sure they build the right thing. The most common thing we hear from teams using agents is that they shipped fast and then rebuilt it. The code was fine. The team just wasn't aligned on what they wanted before the agent started. That's why we built visual plan mode in Lightsprint. We call it visual spec driven development: - Before any agent writes code, Lightsprint writes the technical spec. - It also generates a design spec with a full, clickable preview of how the frontend will look. - Engineering aligns on the tech spec, and product and design align on the design spec. Only then does it go to the agents to build. Alignment is what Lightsprint stands for. When everyone agrees on the plan and the screens up front, rework drops, reviews get shorter, and what ships is what the team actually meant. Faster agents make alignment more important, not less.

A small design update: every task now gets an instant title summary, no matter how long the request is, so your team can see at a glance what each ticket is about ❤️

Lightsprint is extremely legit btw. First day live: 4 pull requests with real features from our (non-engineer) Product Lead - I've messaged three separate friends "This is the future of software engineering" Takes a day to set up, once set up anyone can create a task which gives them their own environment with Lovable style side chat and the real product on the left - we have pretty extensive docs fed to the agent to make sure it stays inside our standards & patterns. Wild
A Software Factory that captures all of the potential upside of what Software Factories should unlock - Is basically fully web/cloud based & looks more like Lovable than Cursor - Allows PMs, designers, and other non-technical people to contribute, and is designed around that reality - Is focused on ruthlessly reducing feedback loop time - time to create a task, time to make a change, time to run Ci, time to merge to main Very few products are actually building with this in mind. Niteshift and Hoplite look good, but after a day of trying out a lot, I've settled (for now) on lightsprint.ai We're still so, so early

Love this team. Fastest way to build a software factory for product managers and designers (and yes, other non-engineering friends)
We're excited to announce that we have raised a $6.1M seed led by @645ventures, with @ycombinator, @January_Capital , @RebelFund_VC , @sterlingroadvc , @transposevc and prominent angel investors including @nejatian @iEchoic @sternhenri @ooshma 🚀 AI prototypes were act one. Act two is PMs, designers and ops shipping high quality PRs on the real codebase, even across multiple repos, with engineering in control of every merge. LightSprint helps CTOs empower PMs, designers and ops to ship on their real codebase, with engineering in control of every merge. Since launch, non-engineers have shipped thousands of pull requests with LightSprint. Full story on our blog: lightsprint.ai/blog/lightspr…

The startup Lightsprint is helping non-technical employees like product managers code. "We found that actually there were a lot of PMs like me as well as designers who actually really wanted to shift to production," Benjamin Ong, Lightsprint's cofounder... bit.ly/3TSIjrg

Teams are shipping faster, and some now have PMs and designers shipping too. PR review is the new bottleneck. Lightsprint already consolidates feedback from all your code review agents (@GeminiApp Code Assist, @cursor_ai Bugbot, @greptile , @coderabbitai , or whichever you use) into one place and sends it back to your agent to fix. Now every PR also gets a flow diagram that maps the change: which components were added, removed, or modified, with line counts on each so reviewers can see where the real changes are. Tech leads tell us it’s the fastest way to figure out where to start, instead of reading the entire diff top to bottom.

Everyone wants to know which model writes the best code. Zest just published data on 866 agent-written PRs from their own repos, August 12 to October 4. Once they compared the same engineer, repo and week, the gap between models mostly disappeared. PRs under 100 lines got a should-fix flag from their reviewer 11% of the time. PRs between 1,000 and 3,000 lines got flagged 57% of the time. PR size isn’t decided at review. It’s decided much earlier, when someone writes “add bulk export” in a ticket and an agent takes it literally. The old flow assumed an engineer would quietly break that down in their head. Agents don’t. They’ll happily write 2,000 lines against a one-line ask. The leverage isn’t swapping models every month. It’s agreeing on scope, the slices, and what “done” looks like before the agent starts. That’s a product conversation as much as an engineering one. The model is the easy variable to change. The plan is the one that moves the numbers.

Jira and Bitbucket integrations are live. If your team runs on the @Atlassian stack, Lightsprint now picks up tickets from Jira / opens PRs into Bitbucket. Same workflow GitHub teams had, no migration required. Try the collaborative software factory: lightsprint.ai

Worktrees keep parallel software changes separate. LightSprint gives every ticket its own sandbox, so PMs and designers get to build safely without learning Git.

Yes! We've solved this by creating a review hub and getting our agent to resolve merge conflicts across different PRs

New in Lightsprint: Console Mode 🔥 Most agent tools bury you in a chat or a board. Never both. Console mode: flip from kanban to an IDE-style view. Agent session on one side, live preview on the other. Same task, same PR. Built for developers who want to see the work, and for PMs who want to track the tasks on the board.
