1/ Hiring isn’t just about offloading tasks—it’s about finding people who own a scope without constant oversight. When someone can work autonomously, they’re not just doing a job; they’re taking responsibility.

1. “I don’t have time” is often a mask for prioritization. Instead of waiting for extra minutes, create them. We call it a time block—an intentional, scheduled period for what matters, whether it’s a side project or exercise. 🧵

Utilize AI to organize and automatically categorize your Gmail as if you had an assistant.
I typically have AI categorize emails into the following labels:
- ShouldRead
- ShouldReply
- ColdEmail
- Marketing
- Priority
- Notification
Currently, I focus emails with the ShouldRead, ShouldReply, and Priority labels, disregarding ColdEmail, Marketing, and Notification.

Why do we often focus on the short term? It's not just one reason, but many:
1. We're wired to seek immediate rewards. It's in our DNA from our caveman days. Quick payoffs meant survival.
2. Thinking long-term is hard work for our brains. Short-term goals are easier and require less mental heavy lifting.
3. The future is uncertain and unpredictable. Focusing on the short term feels safer because it's more controllable.
4. When we're stressed and overloaded, it's tough to think about the distant future. We prioritize what's right in front of us.
5. Money troubles and social pressures can make us focus on short-term needs over long-term dreams.
6. Quick results are satisfying. They keep us coming back for more. Long-term progress is slower and less rewarding in the moment.
7. Our tech-driven world is all about the here and now. Social media rewards instant engagement, not long-term value.
8. How we're raised and educated shapes our thinking. If we don't learn to plan for the future early, we may not develop the skill.
So, what can we do? Be aware of these influences. Learn long-term thinking. Create processes and systems to balance short and long-term needs.
