ALT hey, booktwt. for those of you that don't know me: i'm smile (or nico), the guy behind everything related to design & product for annotate. we know you haven't heard from us in a while. trust me, we've seen your questions and concerns... you're wondering where we've gone, when the app will finally be out, and what went so wrong with our original timeline. let me start with this: annotate is still very much alive and happening. though things have been quiet on the outside, there have been SO many conversations inside our team that we've been working through the past couple weeks in order to get annotate in your hands. that being said, many of you probably know our solo developer, shrimp. unfortunately, she is going through a difficult time, which has required her to take a short break. we ask that you respect her privacy and send her nothing but love. annotate is being created and run by a very small team [...] (continued in next image's alt text)

ALT [...] as a side project, with only one person in each main branch of the app's existence. so, when one person has to step back, it is bound to slow down our entire process. nonetheless, progress is still being made! we haven't forgotten our audience, either: you can join our discord and see me streaming the design process working on new features / redesigns of current ones on weekends. nini and i are also working together with our brilliant moderators to keep our community going and alive with themes events you can join in. we know we've lost a lot of your trust. you haven't heard from us in weeks, and we're sorry about the lack of communication. We're doing everything we can to bring annotate to all of you, and we hope to come back to you soon with good news. we wanted to thank our testers who, everyday, use annotate and help us refine our app! we also wanted to thank everyone for the continuous support since we first launched our twitter account, in july.
