Did you know that all new library members receive a biodegradable eco card? If you already have an older card, please keep using it to reduce waste. Our eco cards are just one way your library helps you to be sustainable 💚 #GreenLibrariesWeek @SurreyLibraries @librariesweek

One square metre of our roof’s surface area will neutralise approximately 1.75kg of CO₂. Next time you’re here for an all-dayer, think of the hard work that’s also going on above your heads @cardiffuni! #greenlibrariesweek (4/4)

The new roof serves as a carbon savings and rainwater neutralising system, surfaced with a mineral granule which causes a chemical reaction to the CO₂ in rainwater, converting it to harmless silicon dioxide (SiO₂ i.e. sand), magnesium carbonate (inorganic salt) and water (3/4)
