Petition: Do not extend the BBC licence fee to streaming services
There are widespread reports that the Government is considering extending the BBC licence fee to include subscribers of streaming services that are not owned or run by the BBC.

Very poor take. His victims aren't the same people they were 20 years ago either. Quit the himpathy & centre the victims.

This question isn’t proving what Colin thinks it’s proving.
He (and others) are assuming those who say they won’t shoot the tiger are saying they think animal lives are more important than human lives.
But that’s not really what the question is asking.
Think about this scenario for a moment:
An adult man knowingly and illegally enters an enclosed space with a wild tiger. Not a pet tiger. Not a tame tiger. Not some tiger version of Aslan. A wild tiger in a small space where the tiger will be sure to see him.
Would you shoot the tiger?
I can’t help but feel an injustice there.
The man is the one putting the tiger’s life at risk.
The world has seen this before, grown adults endangering the lives of the animals because they refuse to obey the rules of the zoo. It’s literally a “this is why we can’t have nice things” situation here. We can’t try and help endangered tigers via a breed and release programs at zoos because some idiot is going to get the endangered animal shot.
The scenario is different if the human in danger is one of the handlers who was meant to BE there.
It’s different if the tiger is in the MAN’S home.
It’s different if the man is out on a hike and the tiger attacks him out of the blue.
In all three cases I’d shoot the tiger in a heartbeat.
But hurts my sense of justice to kill a tiger for being a tiger when the MAN is willfully putting that tiger’s life in danger with HIS illegal and reckless actions.
That feels so wrong.
No, I don’t value animals lives over human lives. But I do absolutely despise selfish thoughtless humans who recklessly endanger others because they are pursuing their own will at the cost of everything else.
A person willingly enters a tiger enclosure and approaches the tiger. The tiger begins mauling the person. You have a gun and the ability to take a clean shot at the tiger to save the person's life.

I do most of my drafting in my head long before an idea gets anywhere near a note or document. The only evidence I have is a track record having become a published author before AI reared its ugly head.
Replying to @TheAtlantic @vauhinivara
It is not difficult to prove a writer used AI or not. Anyone who has done the difficult work without use of AI will have evidence - scrap books, drafts, notes, mind maps, flowcharts, photos, videos, etc. The fact that little to no effort is used by publications like The Atlantic to verify these and other claims is telling. Anyone who is accused thus can have a goldmine of evidence to produce in a rebuttal.

Disabled people are tired of being required, yet again, to prove themselves to a third party simply to obtain the reasonable adjustments at venues across the UK to which they are legally entitled.
The increasing reliance on schemes such as the Nimbus Access Card risks creating additional barriers rather than removing them.
When concerns are raised, companies using the Nimbus Access Card should respond publicly and transparently, not seek to contain discussions behind private correspondence.
Public responses allow all disabled people, unpaid carers and advocates to understand the organisation's position, policies and rationale.
Transparency promotes accountability, consistency and trust, whereas private responses leave others facing the same issues without the information they need to make informed decisions or challenge discriminatory practices.
Disabled people deserve accessible services based on their rights, not another layer of assessment, verification and gatekeeping.
