Sometimes our own speciesism creeps in when we are advocating for non-human animals. Using words and concepts like "overfishing" and "fish stocks" reinforces the notion that #fish are resources for us to exploit. They are sentient beings with the right to live. #AnimalRights

The price of flour has risen to $400 per bag. I haven't been able to buy any flour. We are only eating expired canned food. 💔 Please help me feed my family. My family of 16 children and women are starving.

Can you believe this still how animals are being treated? Cut and ripped apart whilst still alive, and then filmed for entertainment? Although this is not in the UK, crabs, lobsters and prawns still endure horrific, torturous practices that must end! Take action now:crustaceancompassion.org/tak…

🌱🌊 Rewilding Day & Crustaceans: Bringing life back to our oceans! 🦀
💙Today is #RewildingDay, a time to celebrate restoring natural habitats, and that includes our oceans! 🌊✨ Did you know that seagrass meadows, salt marshes, and oyster reefs are vital habitats for crabs, lobsters, and other marine life? 🦐🏝️🌿
Rewilding efforts help:
✅ Restore coastal ecosystems 🏝️
✅ Provide safe nurseries for young crustaceans 🦀
✅ Improve water quality & biodiversity 💙
By protecting and rewilding our shorelines & seabeds, we create a healthier world for decapods and all marine life! 🌍
🌊 Let’s bring nature back! 💚

Prisons are built to keep people safe, but they’ve torn families apart. This Women’s History Month, we are spotlighting the female abolitionists who’ve fought to show that real safety comes from changing the system, not putting people in cages. 🧵

Fishes swimming up and down the edges of their tank desperately searching for a way out. Rays swimming with their heads sticking out of the water. Smooth-hound shark driven so mad by his confinement that he was left spiralling in circles like a corkscrew.

Jose Luis shared his days’ work of harvesting okra in Coachella CA. He earns $12 a basket. The high this day in July was 109°. Fresh okra is commonly used in soups and stews but can also be breaded and fried for a tasty summer appetizer. Thank you Jose Luis. #WeFeedYou

Another recent TikTok video and an important reminder that commercial fishing is destroying the ocean and no industrially-caught seafood is sustainable. #EndBycatch
