Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving weekend. Feeling extremely blessed and grateful for family and friends, and for Xu Talent’s clients ($1B+ AUM funds) and supporters. As we head into the final month of the year, I’m hearing from many who are starting to pick up their heads. Terrific time in the market to explore something new! I’m currently working with several VC firms primarily Seed through Series B+ on Investor and Partner/GP searches across SF and NYC. The most common profiles include: - Founders who have exited or are winding down, and exploring potentially a transition into Venture. - Technical operators with strong business instincts who enjoy building relationships with founders and the broader ecosystem. - Current investors (Venture & Growth), or current/former scouts for a VC firm. If this sounds like you, I’d love to chat (link below).

The Board of Supervisors has voted 9 to 2 to remove Max Carter-Oberstone from the Police Commission. He stood in the way of common-sense reforms to make San Francisco safer. We need commissioners who prioritize public safety, not their political agenda.

The fentanyl crisis is ravaging our streets. While 93% of San Franciscans support arresting and prosecuting fentanyl dealers, not all of the Supervisor candidates do. Check out our analysis on where the candidates stand on fentanyl policy 👇🏽 growsf.org/voter-guide/novem…

I didn’t plan to get into politics, but I realized replacing our failed leadership was the only way to make San Francisco a liveable place to raise my family. We’ve accomplished a lot, but it won’t matter unless we win in November. 👇 growsf.org/blog/2024-06-buil…

The @GrowSF team got a tour of the Transamerica Pyramid including climbing up precarious ladders all the way to the very top. What an incredible experience! ❤️ SF.

Do we get to name the Pandas? If we are as serious about API heritage as the announcement says, I suggest we import pandas as pd This will ensure we don’t have any naming collisions with existing built-in methods like map, all, filter, etc.
It's happening: the pandas are coming to San Francisco! These Giant Pandas will honor our deep cultural connections and our Chinese and API heritage. They will bring residents and visitors from all over who come to visit them at the SF Zoo.

Putting my money where my mouth is: after talking to @agarwal I donated a few months rent to @GrowSF. They've accomplished amazing things in a short time. First time in fifteen years of living in SF that I feel some hope for this city. growsf.org/donate/
My friends who leave San Francisco always come back. Time to make peace with it: there’s no escaping SF. I’ve avoided getting involved in the knife-fight-in-clown-car that is SF politics for a long time, but there is no other option. We have to fix this city.

With almost 50 people running for Mayor, ranked choice voting (RCV) will be essential to electing a mayor who actually improves San Francisco. Don't throw your vote away by voting for one person. You can vote for UP TO TEN! Read more about RCV here 👇 growsf.org/blog/2024-04-rank…

With 100% of votes counted, we can officially declare the March 5, 2024 election a HUGE SUCCESS! Common sense Democrats have taken the helm at the SF Democratic Party, and voters passed all of the good ballot measures (and not the bad one!) growsf.org/blog/2024-03-marc…

We weren't sure if this campaign was going to work so first we ran a small randomized trial and then scaled it up when we saw positive results. We use data and experimentation in everything we do at @GrowSF. Your donations go further with us.
Most people don't know that only Democrats can vote for the leaders of the SF Democratic Party (DCCC), a group that makes important endorsements. So we ran a campaign to tell them. 🎉 We're excited to announce we're on track to register 2,000 Democrats for the March election 🎉

I’m looking for someone who can make awesome videos for @GrowSF’s website + ads. 6-60 seconds, different content & styles. We will pay, but we’re not hiring an expensive agency. We want people who are lean, fast, and passionate about our work. Do you know anyone who can help us?
