Yes, we all want a GC鈥檇 Rust. Not saying I don鈥檛 like Rust though, but an alternative that brings the type system, ergonomics and all the stuff that makes Rust great, to language with a GC would be perfect. And Go level efficiency/speed would be more than enough

This font looks cool, do you mind sharing the name?

I guess I鈥檓 just discovering Effect from first principles

Building my own fp library in TS and inevitably going in the same direction as Effect, except that the overall ergonomics lean closer to Rust鈥檚. The pattern matching seems to be a considerable runtime overhead though, is that really a thing @MichaelArnaldi?

That鈥檚 interesting. While tmux has worked well for me, I guess it doesn鈥檛 hurt to give it a try, thanks man!

What exactly do you think it鈥檚 similar between Python and OCaml?

I have years of experience with typescript and started diving deep into rust some months ago. This is exactly the opportunity I was looking for.

It is indeed. I really like the whole idea behind HTMX being an extension of HTML, but the mental model of partial rendering didn鈥檛 really click to me. Now I might give it a try to datastar

How鈥檚 the feeling so far? Similar to HTMX?

I used to do that in C#, and while I don鈥檛 think it鈥檚 completely useless, I鈥檝e never come across a really good use case for it

Exactly. I like the approach, it will avoid feature creep, but at the same time, it feels like the ecosystem evolves at a much lower pace and lacks a lot of useful things.

Almost everything about the language is great, and I also like the simplicity, but in almost every application I write in Go, I end up using iota, which clearly indicates the use case for enums/more complex types

I鈥檓 trying rust and having good time, but out of curiosity, do you use Rust for literally everything?

Right now I鈥檓 working in the domain I like (finance) with a language I don鈥檛 like (Typescript), so difficulty to find a job is something I鈥檒l also take into consideration when picking the language, and in this regard, I think Rust and Elixir are the winners.

I鈥檓 definitely going to explore this niche. Elixir also looks interesting, but the lack of types drives me away from it.
