I'm actually talking about @rector at @leedsphp tomorrow so if you're interested in how you can start writing your own rules it should be an experience.
Just ran @rectorphp aggressively (all PHP sets, level 10 type coverage + dead code + clean code sets) over a fairly big legacy codebase, with close to 1,000 files changed.
Just merged and deployed it and so far it seems to be going pretty damn amazingly!
