This is toxic and disingenuous. Tangem is misleading so many folks who don’t know better.
Gaslighting the industry for years.
Blind signing has a clear definition. This product is a glorified 2FA hot wallet and doesn’t protect from the most simple type of attack: a compromised phone or computer.
Hey, Chris!
A screen doesn’t solve blind signing. Huge sums have been lost to transactions people approved on screens they couldn’t actually read. Please read it: tangem.com/en/blog/post/blin…
Why the "no screen is bad" narrative fails
By shifting key processes to the secure mobile app, Tangem’s hardware wallet doesn't need a display. The secure app handles all critical interactions and is protected by the robust security layers outlined above. This simplifies the user experience while keeping their digital assets safe.
The app side is hardened separately: integrity checks against modified versions, root and jailbreak detection, tapjacking protection, certificate pinning, DexProtector, and open code on GitHub. Details here: tangem.com/en/blog/post/mobi…
We compared the two approaches and chose the one we believe is safer and simpler for people to use. Ledger Cryptobilis incident shows it was the right choice: with Tangem, a story like this simply couldn’t have happened.

⚠️ BITCOIN IS NOT OPTIONAL: People think it's like iPhone adoption, but it's like gunpowder adoption 💥
"Did the French army have a choice whether they should adopt gunpowder or not? Did they decide, 'No, you know what, we like to keep it real with the sticks and stones and swords, and we're not gonna use gunpowder."

What annoys me is people blaming consumers for the symptoms of monetary debasement.
When money stops preserving value, wages and skilled labor become ever more expensive in nominal terms. Craftsmanship becomes a luxury, restoration loses to replacement, and tailoring, and shoemaking give way to fast fashion.
People didn't suddenly stop appreciating things built to last. We made building them uneconomic. If we had sound money, people would buy things that last.

It's always the same people posting and obsessing over the most abstract / intangible topics all the time, like governance of open source projects, 30 year treasury yields, mises regression theorem, bitcoin mining decentralization, quantum computers breaking cryptography, climate change.. such big brains. so visionary.
Meanwhile, you meet them in person and they can't even get the simplest things right.

Today, an undisclosed large bank dealing with the Iranian regime will be sanctioned by the US.
Sanctioned countries and anyone dealing with them are now being forced to adopt Bitcoin.

Hey everyone! The Bitcoin Collectible Card Game (@BitcoinCCG) that I've been developing for nearly six years is finally available!
I would be very happy if you bought and played it, or simply collected the cards. I've put a lot of time and effort into its design and creation, and I hope you love it just as much as I do.

"Même à 0,2 %, on pourrait tenir un an."

As central banks continue to devalue fiat currencies, @ToneVays positions Bitcoin as the world’s only truly decentralized, unconfiscatable store of value.

After a long delay it seems El Salvador's IMF loan is back on track
Two interesting notes from this report:
1. Chivo was partially sold so that the govt now has a minority stake.
2. "Documentation has been provided verifying that Bitcoin accumulation since the first review reflects private donations and that no public resources were used."
The Chivo bit is interesting as it seems that was the main obstacle to cause the previous delay. It's not stated who bought it, nor if the govt will be permitted to hold a minority stake indefinitely. The orginal terms were for zero govt involvement.
That the govt is not buying bitcoin anymore was already known--either via chain analysis or the 2025 IMF report (which contained signed letters from the El Salvador Central Bank and the Minister of Finance confirming that). However, this is a different reason cited compared to the first report which said that the govt was transferring bitcoin from private wallets to thier public one. I had presumed they meant from pirvate wallets the El Salvador govt owned, but this new language calls it 'private donations.' That private donor is unnamed.
My best guess would be Tether, which has the resources and the motivation. Still, if Tether was willing to be so generous with thier new hosts why didn't they help in such a way that would have prevented the need for the IMF loan in the first place? In which scenario would the private donor have maximum leverage over the nation-state?
There is likely going to be a more detailed accounting soon which may shed some more light on these curiosities.
IMF staff and the Salvadoran authorities have reached a staff-level agreement on the combined second and third reviews under El Salvador’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement. Subject to IMF Board approval this would unlock about US$140m. imf.org/en/news/articles/202…
