Our Co-Founder @ClaudeAGarcia featured in @BBCWorld "People fixing the world"-Series on how Games can help with inaction in climate change. Tune in!
The game equation:
Information + Emotions = Insights.
What you do with the insights afterwards is your responsibilty.

Whose perspective counts? We reviewed definitions and uses of terms associated with natural and near-natural forests. Some findings: Although importance of values is increasingly recognised, definitions that explicitly incorporate values are scarce. 1/

It has taken a long time, but we're at last getting to grips with the enormous environmental impacts of the livestock industry. The struggle to defend the living planet against its predations will be familiar to anyone involved in fighting the fossil fuel industry 20 years ago.🧵

The KEY question, I'm asked by students when I guest lecture about the #ClimateCrisis is 'but what can we do?'
So I recently rewrote my materials to try & tackle that question head on. Feel free to adapt them.
Buckle up - here's a LONG thread🧵about how we can fight back!

Deforestation is the main driver of land-use emissions (6.7GtCO₂/yr for 2012-2021).
Forest fluxes from re/afforestation & forestry counterbalance about half of these emissions (-3.5GtCO₂/yr), leading to a net LUC flux of 4.5GtCO₂/yr.

Compared to older generations of emission scenarios (left) and AR6 (right), CO₂ emissions slowed down sufficiently to avoid the worst-case outcomes, but have not remotely reduced in line to keep <1.5°C.
