I’d suggest a different way of looking at the problem. We have to move from being “data-driven” to “evidence-based.” Collective human judgement, informed by evidence, is how student progress should be assessed. All students should have digital portfolios & present & defend work.

I did a focus group with college students asking them in what ways they were most and least well prepared for college by their excellent public high school, and this what they told me. It was all about the skills. What would your recent hs grads say? Ask them!
Students inform what is missing in today's prep for college: "More time writing!... Research skills... time management... Learning to work with other students in study groups." @DrTonyWagner #learnleadtech #DeepLearning

Confidence begins with self-acceptance—which is made possible through a strong faith in God's love and plan for our lives. I believe it is insulting to God when we compare ourselves with others. Today, make a decision to be grateful for the person God made you to be! #JoyceQuote
