“Humanity’s reliance on absolutism seems to be a degenerate response to a natural, legitimate—perhaps even say hardwired—desire for ‘answers.’” @lcheuk talks absolutism and Norse gods with Kurt Baumeister, on the occasion of his new novel. lareviewofbooks.org/article/…

Today is pub day for THE MORGUE KEEPER by Ruyan Meng, 7.13 Books #35. Asian Review of Books calls it “devastating.”
Karissa Chen, bestselling author of HOMESEEKING, calls it “chilling” and “Kafkaesque.”
It’s a cautionary tale for authoritarian times.
