is there anything more romantic than being read to in bed.
Stanchion@StanchionZineJul 5
Finished reading @saralippmann's new novel Hidden River aloud to my wife this morning, snuggled up in bed, a sleepy, dreamy start to an ordinary weekend day. A stunning achievement, this book, by one of our most talented and giving modern authors. I can't recommend it enough.

shout out to authors & presses who bust their asses, sweat their asses off and talk until their voices are shattered at book fests to find new readers for books that no one has ever heard of. it's not easy but it's so rewarding to make real human connections with curious readers.

Our new issue, "Neighbors," is dropping on June 15! Issue 36's striking collection of work confronts the ways that people long for each other—from a Playboy Mansion to a Nigerian schoolyard to the classic avyan in a new translation of an unsung Iranian author.
