Today would’ve been the first day of the 6th annual @layersconf. It would’ve been a joyful festival of snacks, new ideas, sunshine, old friends, and unexpected connections. Much more important things are happening now, but we’ll be back some day. ❤️✊🏻🧡✊🏼💛✊🏽💚✊🏾💙✊🏿💜

Layers Trivia™️ We cross reference each bathroom product for reviews on Sephora, R29, Strategist, GQ, etc. Then we compile in Keynote and design a set based on product variety, aesthetic, color, and size.

The fact is we are biological organisms, and on a hot day around a lot of people, you never know what sort of thing might happen. It may seem frivolous on the surface, but it’s a profound way of being considerate. I mean what an amazing spread

We’re past the era of conferences being about content you could watch on video instead. Which means the experience of the IRL humans must be well-designed. Let’s give @layersconf design conference credit where credit is due for walking the walk and forging new ground (Thread)

A designer and paper engineer, @kellianderson is an artist whose work operates in the space between conceptual art, graphic design, and tech. She's a wonderful person who makes simple things feel like pure magic, and we can't wait for Kelli to speak at Layers!

We think Disney Imagineering produces some of the best experiences in the world, so who better to speak to a bunch of UI/UX designers than a former Imagineer? Thrilled to have Amber Samdahl at Layers this year, talking about how to incorporate play into the design process.

Co-presenting with Erica will be @rarar, principal designer at Khan Academy. Together they'll discuss how the principles that teachers use in the classroom apply to our practice as designers. A meta talk about pedagogy and learning that will enhance the rest of the lineup? Yes!!

We've invited @katherinemzhou to speak about one of the most pressing topics in design (and honestly, the whole world) right now: ethics. Kat will cover theoretical and philisophical foundations you need to make the best decisions at work, and we're eager to learn from her!
