giving @layers a try i am setting my app Motif inside layers to experiment with it and build a growth loop got 2 months free from #Shipaton let's see how this works #BuildInPublic #Marketing #Growth
1/8 Most habit trackers are built to keep you tracking forever. I built Motif around the opposite idea: A good habit tracker should eventually make itself unnecessary. Here’s what makes Motif different #Shipaton #Productivity #IndieHacker #BuildInPublic

if you were impacted by the @blocks mass layoffs, and you're going to build (something/anything), i'd be happy to load your @layers account with a bunch of credits. there's no better time than now to bet on yourself. DMs open
we're making @blocks smaller today. here's my note to the company. #### today we're making one of the hardest decisions in the history of our company: we're reducing our organization by nearly half, from over 10,000 people to just under 6,000. that means over 4,000 of you are being asked to leave or entering into consultation. i'll be straight about what's happening, why, and what it means for everyone. first off, if you're one of the people affected, you'll receive your salary for 20 weeks + 1 week per year of tenure, equity vested through the end of may, 6 months of health care, your corporate devices, and $5,000 to put toward whatever you need to help you in this transition (if you’re outside the U.S. you’ll receive similar support but exact details are going to vary based on local requirements). i want you to know that before anything else. everyone will be notified today, whether you're being asked to leave, entering consultation, or asked to stay. we're not making this decision because we're in trouble. our business is strong. gross profit continues to grow, we continue to serve more and more customers, and profitability is improving. but something has changed. we're already seeing that the intelligence tools we’re creating and using, paired with smaller and flatter teams, are enabling a new way of working which fundamentally changes what it means to build and run a company. and that's accelerating rapidly. i had two options: cut gradually over months or years as this shift plays out, or be honest about where we are and act on it now. i chose the latter. repeated rounds of cuts are destructive to morale, to focus, and to the trust that customers and shareholders place in our ability to lead. i'd rather take a hard, clear action now and build from a position we believe in than manage a slow reduction of people toward the same outcome. a smaller company also gives us the space to grow our business the right way, on our own terms, instead of constantly reacting to market pressures. a decision at this scale carries risk. but so does standing still. we've done a full review to determine the roles and people we require to reliably grow the business from here, and we've pressure-tested those decisions from multiple angles. i accept that we may have gotten some of them wrong, and we've built in flexibility to account for that, and do the right thing for our customers. we're not going to just disappear people from slack and email and pretend they were never here. communication channels will stay open through thursday evening (pacific) so everyone can say goodbye properly, and share whatever you wish. i'll also be hosting a live video session to thank everyone at 3:35pm pacific. i know doing it this way might feel awkward. i'd rather it feel awkward and human than efficient and cold. to those of you leaving…i’m grateful for you, and i’m sorry to put you through this. you built what this company is today. that's a fact that i'll honor forever. this decision is not a reflection of what you contributed. you will be a great contributor to any organization going forward. to those staying…i made this decision, and i'll own it. what i'm asking of you is to build with me. we're going to build this company with intelligence at the core of everything we do. how we work, how we create, how we serve our customers. our customers will feel this shift too, and we're going to help them navigate it: towards a future where they can build their own features directly, composed of our capabilities and served through our interfaces. that's what i'm focused on now. expect a note from me tomorrow. jack

imagine if your marketing dept knew exactly what your dev team has been working on that’s what @layers enables in an agentic world, with their code-aware autonomous marketing the take-away pattern is to use context from department A to help department B do better work

Attn: founders, developers, hackers, solopreneurs Autonomous marketing from your Github/IDE with @layers — check this 👇🏼
Holy shit... 3 ex-Snapchat engineers just built an AI CMO that reads your GitHub and runs your entire marketing stack. It's called @layers and it quietly kills the need for marketing agencies, freelancers, and $10K/mo CMOs. Here's everything you need to know:

Here's how @layers works: → Connect your GitHub (optional but powerful) → It analyzes your code, ICP, tone, and positioning automatically → Recommends a stack of marketing "layers" tailored to YOUR product → Then it actually executes — not just advice Content. Ads. UGC. Social. ASO. All in one platform.

Who is @layers for? → Indie hackers tired of launching to crickets → Mobile app builders who got approved after 5 rejections and still got zero downloads → SaaS founders who'd rather write code than marketing copy → Solopreneurs who can't afford a $5K/mo agency If you love building but hate pulling marketing levers this is your tool.

Quick math: Freelance marketer: $3,000-5,000/mo Marketing agency: $5,000-15,000/mo In-house CMO: $10,000+/mo @layers: $49/mo. Same capabilities. Fraction of the cost. Actually understands your code. Stop launching to zero users. layers.com

@layers is live today. 3 engineers who felt the gut punch of launching to zero users built the solution so you never have to. Every developer deserves a real shot at getting users. This is that shot. → layers.com Bookmark this. Share it with a dev friend who needs it. 🔖

this team convinced me to invest by explaining how devs hate marketing so much, they don't even want a marketing app solution: just launch and monitor autonomous marketing from your github/IDE with @layers

the new @layers marketing stack for devs isn't just generating slop content it analyzes trends, creates content based on the analysis, also manages UGC creators, and suggests/runs ads across Meta/TikTok/Apple/Google

The @layers thesis coming to life in real-time.
Agentic coding is causing an explosion in app creation Incredibly bullish for GOOGL and META. Get ready to pay the CAC tax

Had a great time yapping with @aripap on @marketecturetv on marketing and AI.

@aripap talks with @MikeKhristo , Founder of @layers , about how AI is reshaping the line between building and marketing software. They discuss “vibe coding” and how platforms like Layers help automate marketing so builders can focus on features instead of distribution. They also touch on organic growth, App Store Optimization, and what the rise of niche apps means for the future of development. Link below 👇

2026 is here. Bet on yourself. Trying and failing is cheaper than living with regret. Whether you’re an indie hacker, startup founder, UGC creator, or if you have any kind of entrepreneurial desire - there is no better time to bet on yourself and give it a shot. And even if you fail - Failure Beats Regret.
