My January 2022 petty grievance: my husband’s wordle strategy is insane and yet he consistently guesses in fewer guesses than me.
Ooh. This is exciting. Relatedly, are hand rolls the most undersung sushi offering? I am extremely pro temaki. 5280.com/2020/02/sushi-den-t…
I think what @pete_wells does brilliantly here is separate ritual from value. There's value in ritual, but how much? I miss lingering Friday lunches over burgers and martinis at Luger -- but do I actually miss the food? Not so sure. Wowza. nytimes.com/2019/10/29/dinin…
I reject the notion of sad girl, party of one -- dining alone has long been one of my greatest pleasures. Pleased to pass along my thoughts to the @denverpost denverpost.com/2019/10/09/wh…
Valet asked for my claim check and I gave him my IUD replacement card, if you’re wondering how my week is starting.
Here for #NationalDoughnutDay. And by here, I mean Northside Avon, which makes the best doughnuts in the state of CO. 💅🏻
A new kind of agricultural high school is coming to Reunion, CO — one where students will tackle the big issues of our edible future. My story: westword.com/restaurants/reu… – at Denver, CO
I would love to know how much money @AperolUSA makes this weekend off the back of that take. Suspect the haterade is more valuable than all the branded glassware and sponsored awnings in the world. – at Denver, CO
Derek Brown tells me that because of a certain New York Times story from this week, @ColumbiaRoom is offering half-off Aperol spritzes all night tonight.
*personal* news: our 2019 straw bale garden is underway. Last year, 5 bales produced, among other things, a bushel of tomatillos, more squash and tomatoes than we could eat, and 2 watermelon + 1 cantaloupe, so naturally this year we quintupled down on the method.
Infuriating. Denver’s budget has doubled/grown by $1B in last 8 years. Most of that has gone to services that support developers instead of tackling infrastructural, housing, homelessness and climate challenges in a growing city. That’s not vision. That’s just irresponsible.

Not only would a 72-hour hold have prevented a Front Range hostage situation, it may have given a shot at intervention with someone clearly in the midst of a mental health crisis. 72-hour holds reduce gun suicides and domestic violence.
Today is the next day. Colorado doesn’t have a 72-hour hold on gun purchases. If they did, the FBI would have alerted local authorities, and Ms Pais would still have been waiting for her gun.
The CO sale also didn’t comply with FL gun laws - at least 72 hours. #copolitics
I’ll never forget my 7-yr-old niece recounting active shooter drill at her school: “They gave us a sucker so we’d stay quiet.” She’s in JeffCo. My mom & sister-in-law are public school teachers in metro Denver. All out of school. When do we admit that our gun policy is insanity?
Two of my kids won’t have class - one school is 20 miles from Denver - and half a million kids are at home today because an 18-year-old was given easy access to guns and ammo. No permit or training required to buy a long gun in Colorado... I’m so angry. #coleg
Excited to support this guy for Senate! And excited to show our spawn its cameo in the launch video of the guy who flipped Cory Gardner’s seat. 🚀
I’m running for Senate in Colorado, because I care about Colorado, I care about the future of our country, and I believe Colorado has something to offer us on the road ahead. If you care too, watch my announcement video: youtube.com/watch?v=NfspVUdV…
So much for Colorado’s “leadership” on pollution standards during the Hick administration. Hope team @jaredpolis is doing more on this than making noise; air quality in Boulder was so bad last week I was embarrassed to be showing around an out-of-towner 😷 denverpost.com/2019/04/07/co…
Air quality in #denver may look less bad today, but it’s actually worse than it was last week when I posted the smog photo. In China, we were told we should wear masks outdoors when AQI hit 150. Pollution is complicated, but again, why are we not prioritizing public transport?
Spent plenty of time in Beijing hand-wringing over the pollution, but air in #denver looks just as bad today. In such a self-professed eco-friendly place, be nice to see real efforts to overhaul car-heavy infrastructure with transit — otherwise problem grows as city grows.
