Is @NowTV the greatest rip off in recent British broadcasting? Let me know your experience of this trite shower of an organisation.
As I read it, this is the sole purpose of @x now… so I ask, just how shit is @thetrainline and while we are trolling the bins @RailwayGreat . Railwaygreat. Hilarious. Getting on a train in the UK is riskier than at any point in my life. Without a bicycle.

I am chairing / interviewing two forest and wood related talks at the mighty @hayfestival at the end of May:

So good to see forests, trees, how to make best use of timber and the power of making things feature in the festival.

Rest in peace to Roberta Flack. Her cover of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” is one of the most beautiful songs in pop history. Clint Eastwood played the entire 5 minutes+ in an extraordinarily touching scene in “Play Misty For Me.”
Anyone else on here ever had a problem with @Eurocarparks_CS? Sent me parking fine. I had bought a ticket for the car park, so I asked for proof of my overstay and evidence that they have information boards about paying extra if you have overstayed. No info in replies!
The uglification of cycling in London is manifest- delivery bikes running red lights, Strava jockeys in bulging lycra, purple cycle rickshaws blaring around Soho and electric hire bikes abandoned irregularly all over pavements—at night, weirdly suggestive of an apocalyptic event.

There are a number of reasons why trees fail or are so painfully slow to naturally recolonize and regenerate on the uplands of Wales, in areas that would have been covered in woodlands formerly. Significant among these reasons is bracken. It grows densely and tall in summer...1/6

The wonderful charity @WoodlandHerita1 (which I am involved in, as a trustee) is recruiting for a new Chair and Vice Chair. Could it be you? Please share. Thank you.

One year into Wales' 20mph limit, road casualties dropped 23% in early 2024, compared to small reductions across GB in 2023. Provisional data shows the impact on road safety.

Grabbing every decent day at the moment. Yesterday, hammering the MTB over the Black Mountains. Glorious play of light and cloud shadow on the moors, beautiful green lanes and some gargantuan ash trees. Grand to be about.
Too kind. May the wind be always at your back.
Richly enjoyable. 👇🏻
Had a moment of concern that it may become anorak central… but no. Too lovely, too shapely, too full of life.

A genuinely restorative ride round the Black Mountains this morning, hiding from the news, on tarmac, gravel and some antique green lanes. At the northern end of the hills, some big ash with little or no sign of dieback -… 1/3
… heartening in a way - solitary hawthorns high up on the moors and tracks lined with ancient coppiced hazel. Lots of wild flowers still displaying in numbers on the commons and in the sod banks - selfheal, tormentil, lesser stitchwort, Breckland thyme and willow herbs. 2/3
