The game is up—I'm told @DougHempstead knows all about my traffic poems built from his words (see "The Church That Became a Spa" in Galaxy Brain). Anyone have a tip for replaying the traffic chat from shortly after 6:30am today on @cbcotttraffic? I'd love to hear Doug's reaction.
Somewhere you made a choice. All followed to this. Issue #21 of Galaxy Brain Magazine is now live!! We thank you for your earth patience: galaxybrain.ca/edition-21/

Sixteen years ago, in 2006, I nervously launched my first poetry collection, Out to Dry in Cape Breton, at the Manx Pub in Ottawa. I'm thrilled to return tomorrow to that sacred corner for Canlit armed with my third collection, While Supplies Last. Saturday May 13, at 5pm.

I love this way of thinking about writing, stories, language, poetry. “A compressed explosion.”
In ‘Mary Shelley at the End of Her Life, Recalling the Monster’ from the collection LENT (@bookhugpress), Kate Cayley presents what an artist has to consider toward what they have imagined—what relationship women hold with monsters. alllitup.ca/Blog/2023/Try-Po… #NationalPoetryMonth

Our Coordinating Editor, @manahilbanduk, is the writer in residence at @OpenBookON for the month of April? She'll be sharing original writing for #PoetMonth, and you can already read two of her posts on poetry as joy and the fun (or less fun) aspects of planning a poetry tour!
Who couldn't use a little more joy? Our #PoetryMonth writer in residence, the brilliant @manahilbanduk, has shared her 1st post, and it's a perfect-for-spring 🌷 ode to the joy of poetry. Let her take you back to pure delight of words, community, & beauty open-book.ca/Writer-in-Resid…

We are thrilled to introduce the final nominee on our 2023 Longlist, @namwalien ! ✨ Serpell was born in Lusaka, Zambia, and lives in New York. Her book, The Furrows ( @HogarthBooks ), captures the uncanny experience of grief, the way the past breaks over the present like waves.
