What is light microscopy? 🔬
Kurt Anderson, head of @CALM_STP, explains why it's so important for many researchers at the Crick to have access to the state-of-the-art microscopes he and his team manage.

... So we focused on making this open, clear and practical to implement, including a really detailed "how-to" starter guide and making all the designs freely available on our lab GitHub page (github.com/SerioLab/SOL3D).

UK association with #HorizonEurope is finally confirmed! 🎉This agreement is thanks to the hard work of many people working to show the value of international collaboration during negotiations 🇬🇧🇪🇺

ALT I am thrilled to finally see that partnerships with EU scientists can continue. This is an essential step in re-building and strengthening our global scientific standing. Thank you to the huge number of researchers in the UK and across Europe who, over many years, didn’t give up on stressing the importance of international collaboration for science. Check out the tweetorial on our new pre-print...
Replying to @The_SERIOus_Dr
Basically an optimised pipeline to combine soft-lithography and SLA resin 3D printing to create high res moulds for devices with complex shapes, which can then be cast in PDMS or really any other material you want...

📰 Research has found that CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing can lead to unintended DNA mutations.
The work, which looked at samples from early human embryos, shows the need for more research into CRISPR-Cas9 effects, especially when editing human DNA in the lab.crick.ac.uk/news/2021-04-09_…

💷 It's vital that @UKRI_News is well-funded.
🌍 We're concerned about cuts to its aid-funded research and the lack of clarity on how the UK will pay for its participation in Horizon Europe.
At a time when research budgets are under pressure, these investments are critical.

Here's a nice idea from the @CALM_STP LM Facility at the @TheCrick
They have adapted the acknowledgment poster in a light-hearted way, and it's very effective. 👏👏👏🏆
