According to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data, IVL use has increased steadily, alongside a decrease in atherectomy use, and IVL was associated with more favorable outcomes compared with atherectomy. jscai.org/article/S2772-9303… @MyJSCAI

Trust in science is falling fastest among people facing financial insecurity. A new global survey from @wellcometrust spanning 140 countries found that people who feel left behind are also less likely to say they trust science, especially when healthcare and the benefits of research feel out of reach. 🚨 Small dense LDL will clog your arteries. Big fluffy LDL is harmless. That is what influencers tell you. But 30 years of data says otherwise, and particle size was never the real killer.

This is an interesting paper which is further evidence for ageing and development being in part linked to splicing isoform fate decisions. (including NMD)
Our paper is out in @NatureAging. We looked for factors that make old cells' gene expression young without erasing their identity. SRSF1 came out as a promising rejuvenation target that reduced aging hallmarks in human cells and extended median lifespan of aged mice by 14%. 1/4

Be careful , hence you do not get misdiagnosed with diabetes so quick . Read below .
PSEUDOHYPERGLYCEMIA- Men and women who go to aesthetic clinics to get extra dosages and boost of vitamin C , sometimes you will observe a spike in your blood sugar readings ,do not panic, it is a false reading sometimes, however do not overdose yourself with vitamin C.
High-dose IV vitamin C (often 15g+ or more in clinics) can interfere with certain point of care glucose meters (finger-prick tests). It causes falsely elevated glucose readings (pseudohyperglycemia) for hours to days afterward. People living pre diabetic conditions and type 2 diabetes should always consult their doctors before taking vitamin C pills and intravenous Vitamin C injections . #eddyconsult #vitaminC #pseudohyperglycemia

1/10 America is losing scientific expertise from its federal government at an extraordinary rate. Thousands of researchers, physicians, engineers, and other specialists have left agencies responsible for protecting public health, evaluating medicines, forecasting disasters, and supporting scientific discovery. We can measure the departures. The longer-term consequences are harder to quantify. Let’s examine what the evidence tells us.

Very appropriate Churchillian answer to the question even though Lp(a) was first described 24 years later in 1963.

CURIOSITY PUTS THE HIPPOCAMPUS INTO A LEARNING STATE. Participants rated how curious they were about trivia questions while their brain activity was recorded, and each answer arrived after a delay. During that delay an unrelated neutral face appeared on screen, and participants were never asked to learn it. When curiosity was high, activity rose in the midbrain and the nucleus accumbens before the answer arrived. The midbrain belongs to the circuit that releases dopamine, and its coupling with the hippocampus predicted how well each person later remembered those incidental faces. The memory advantage held on tests given immediately and again one day later. Participants remembered the trivia answers they had been curious about, and they also remembered the unrelated faces shown while they waited. High curiosity improved memory for the wanted information and for material that simply happened to be present.

As a medical school professor, my takeaway is to look beyond the diet label. Different markers can move in different directions; the overall eating pattern and individual response matter. (4/5)
