When I got in this race more than a year ago, I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. But I love our community and I love New Hampshire. I got married here. I gave birth to my children here. I’ve been a military spouse here. This community rallied around me when my husband was deployed overseas with the Navy and I was expecting our first child. Through it all, I have seen time and again the strength and goodness of the people of our state, and it is for our community that I am still in this fight and that I will remain in this fight. For your kids, and for mine, and for this country we all love. I want to congratulate Stefany Shaheen on winning the Democratic nomination. She is a dedicated Granite Stater, and I’m proud to offer her my full support over these next 55 days. I also want to say a huge thank you to the hundreds of volunteers and local leaders who endorsed our campaign, hosted house parties, knocked on doors, made phone calls, chipped in 5 dollars, baked a dessert for a canvass kick-off, or held a sign. You believed in change, in hope, in service, and that even in these dark times in our country, politics could be fun, and even joyful again.
