EXCLUSIVE: Texas has been considering selling Boca Chica State Park to Elon Musk texasmonthly.com/news-politi…
You had 15 years as a supermajority in our state, Ledbetter. And the most you did, as Alabamians face higher grocery bills and gas bills, was do a lil gradual phaseout a couple of years ago. You did so little despite having absolute control for 15 years.
You do realize Democrats had 136 years of control over the state Legislature. Why didn’t they cut the grocery tax then? Instead, they left the state BILLIONS in debt and voted to give themselves pay raises during the 2008 financial crisis while Alabamians were suffering.
We cut the grocery tax in half last quadrennium and delivered over $1.5B in tax relief. We’ve been able to do that while fixing the education system your buddies broke and building the strongest economy in our state’s history. The same delusional leadership you brought to your brief stint in the U.S. Senate is showing in a big way right now. Can’t wait for Coach to send you packing… again.

This has been something that Alabama progressives and far right conservatives in Alabama have agreed on for years and yet somehow...wasn't done. Ironically the hard right candidates who fought for eliminating the grocery tax were women, not the men here.
I was proud to join Pro Tem Gudger, Rep. Rex Reynolds, Rep. James Lomax, Rep. Phillip Rigsby, and Senator Sam Givhan this morning to announce our joint plan to fully eliminate Alabama’s grocery tax.
Combined with the 50% already cut over the last four years, this will put almost $500 back into the pockets of Alabamians. The bill is drafted and will be a day one priority of the 2027 Session.

NextEra’s $4M Trump ballroom donation muddies Dominion merger debate, watchdogs say
The donation, which advocates called “problematic” and “convenient” for the company, comes to light as federal regulators consider a NextEra-Dominion merger.

How do we know utilities will try to block, weaken or kill transmission reforms Congress is considering now?
They've done it many times before.
Here are examples, mostly from the Southeast, courtesy of Southern, Entergy, and Duke. 1/

And yet more and more organizations and elected representatives have set up whole programs to push stories to influencers with no editorial standards. If we think our new program for welcoming them into press roles isn’t going to result in more of this, we’re all being silly.
Replying to @billybinion
If someone at The New York Times published this fake Talarico “scoop,” they would’ve been fired and driven out of journalism, because the NYT actually has journalistic standards. People like Nick Sortor do not. He is 1,000 times worse than what he sits around criticizing.

Several hardhat unions have lined up behind the permitting bill, helping repair the breach that opened with Democrats when Obama (and Clinton and Biden) rejected Keystone XL. There's one very notable union that's remained silent. heatmap.news/politics/baaja-…

So Kenny "Bryan" Dawson, a man who revels in calling women fat, is now launching what could only be described as a full-scale bigoted attack on the doctors serving Alabama - a region where healthcare is minimal at best and beset by other problems, like lack of access.
Baptist Health's family medicine residency: 84.6% international medical graduates, 15.4% doctors of osteopathic medicine, and zero U.S.-trained MDs. Zero.

This could be good actually. Thinking of all the efforts to restrict renewable energy development on private land last year from the Texas Legislature.

Alabama will now require more public disclosures around data centers, but stopped short of requiring each project be approved by its utility commission.
