Humanoid Robot companies are going to be the biggest in the world and the current biggest tech markets of consumer electronics (Apple) and social media (Meta) are going to look minuscule compared to them Once we have the chatGPT moment for humanoids the market is going to start pricing these companies at 300x, 1000x PE multiples because it will be impossible to scale manufacturing with demand in the first few years And given that we are on the path to become interplanetary, the demand for human labor will be unbounded. Imagine needing to rebuild the earth's infrastructure on Mars. The 4th industrial revolution will be built by robots
Another cohort who are "net short intelligence" are the humanoid robot manufacturers. In addition, humanoids was always going to be a localized / bifurcated market. It's US & China Both sides will consider humanoids a national security issue, so US manufacturers don't need to worry about Chinese companies flooding the US market with cheaper models. Bullish @Figure_robot @Apptronik - bonus that they are @GoogleDeepMind's humanoid partner, so they win when Google wins

Let me tell you all a little story. Sometime around a or so year ago i reached out to an openai staffer who will not be named who had implied they would be very interested in doing some things open source So, as any good representative of open source, i went to all the people i knew working in open source, and asked them all what things could openai do opensource that they would like to see. I collected maybe 15 bullet points, and gave that list to the staffer. 6 months goes by with no response. So i say whats up lets go? And nothing. So i emailed sama himself. And ya know what’s even? He responded! And setup a meeting with a high level research director. We had an hour long conversation where i went through every item on the list, and he mostly shot every single one down. Mostly for not aligning with their business goals, some with hmm we will consider its. Said if they come up with any ideas they’d reach back out. This was like 6 months ago now, and ive never heard back. Since then, i simply gave up trying with them. I gave them all the reasons i could as to why they would benefit from it, but went on what at least at the time was deaf ears. Here is that list again @sama since you seem to have finally seen what i was thinking, thanks at least for answering the email. - Open source your models or at least legacy and deprecated models - Research papers on what has worked for OAI, GPT-4 information such as architecture etc - Opensource datasets for IFT/RLHF/Toolformers/Plugins/FunctionCalling/Web Browsing? (Addendum, reasoning) - Provide preferential access channels for vetted OSAI groups. - Vet internal research for release, with prerogative to release as much as possible, even if on a delay commensurate with business goals and safety concerns. - Have official townhall type meetings with major open source projects/teams - Tools to filter data - Contribute directly to public open source AI projects. - Plug & Play RLHF training code/Reward Models - Alternatives to Text Models (Voice/Music/Image/Video) (preferably OS) - Open sourced moderation classifier model/Classification Model's dataset - Base gpt-4 model access for researchers - opt in to removing the gpt4 moderation - Release roadmap - Opening up the ToS to make it unambiguous that training models on openai outputs are all good.

If Elon Musk and the DOGE team can cut enough government spending to take the US from a deficit to a surplus, there should be a massive, televised parade to celebrate their accomplishment.

AI is a massive unlock for medicine because once you can simulate cells/human biology you can fast track cures for almost all diseases. Precision medicine becomes real. But if we can simulate cells then we are not far off from simulating the world Are we going to be running simulations within simulation? How many simulations deep are we?
The simulation hypothesis will start to feel increasingly eerie over the next few years More advanced simulation software/world models creates huge unlocks for every domain in the world of atoms (and also bits) from biomedicine to robotics to nanotechnology to nuclear energy to space travel For example if you could simulate the human body at an atomic/molecular level you can then potentially test safety/efficacy of drugs through simulations and lessen the clinical trail requirements for drug approval. This would allow you to speed run the cancer treatment development process which currently takes 10+ years and test exponentially more drugs at once. But if we are able to simulate the human body and the world around us to such granular detail than can we really say we are not living in a simulation? techcrunch.com/2025/01/06/go…

Good morning. As the US moves toward adding Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, you will see other countries scramble to do the same. This is simple game theory and it will likely play out on a global scale. Have a great day.

🚨 Action required: After >3yrs of heads-down development, Foundry is en route to our first stable release! Upgrade your installation of Foundryup! 🚨 2025 is looking to be an amazing year with faster and more secure EVM smart contracts! Foundry is a critical part of the EVM development stack, empowering developers through their end to end development lifecycle, from quick builds to deep tests and rich debugging workflows. More importantly, for the EVM to win, Foundry must remain a reliable building block for developers. For that, we must graduate to having stable releases, so we encourage all developers to upgrade their `foundryup` installations. Upgrading is really simple, just run: `curl -L foundry.paradigm.xyz | bash`. ❗Why upgrade? Upgrading ensures your `foundryup` defaults to updating to the latest stable release instead of the latest nightly build. That build is hosted on Github under the `stable` tag: github.com/foundry-rs/foundr…. In the coming weeks, we'll be shipping our last few breaking changes to Foundry (e.g., turning off the optimizer by default, which was recently shipped). If you do not upgrade, you will continue to receive nightly builds by default, which may contain these breaking changes. ✨ Prefer nightly builds? You are still able to receive the latest nightly builds by running `foundryup --install nightly` Be cautious — nightly builds may include breaking changes that are difficult to debug without context. 🔄 Switching between versions? Easily manage your installations with: `foundryup --use <version>` e.g. `foundryup --use nightly`, `foundryup --use stable` ⚙️ And the CI? The foundry-toolchain GitHub Action will use the latest stable release unless you specify the version to be different: github.com/foundry-rs/foundr…, via the `version` tag. Huge kudos to legends @gndizzy @zerosnacks @YashAtreya @DaniPopes who have taken over the Foundry torch in the last year.

Decentralization isn’t always achievable, even with the best intentions and efforts. It relies on human attention—the scarcest resource in the world. I’ve seen projects with unlimited marketing budgets try to incentivize attention, only to see limited long-term results. You either have the rare rizz to ignite lasting memetic fervor or you keep paying through the nose. That said, one promising development is AI agents. I’m bullish on AI agents becoming active participants in communities and contributing to the governance and initiative needed for decentralization. They can reduce the need for human attention by contributing expertise, alleviating friction, prompting initiative, and spreading education. I’m excited to see more innovation in this space.

Gavin Newsom admitting that California’s excessive permits and bureaucratic red tape can be removed overnight and they just choose to make their citizen’s lives more difficult and expensive.
NEW: Just issued an Executive Order that will allow victims of the SoCal fires to not get caught up in bureaucratic red tape and quickly rebuild their homes. We are also extending key price gouging protections to help make rebuilding more affordable.

Once again: prices going up in an emergency is how you allocate scarcity, and send signals to investors and builders to rush in more supply. She’s truly this dumb. This is the only thing she’s built so far to HELP people in this crisis. A signal to deter market aid. No words.
We’re launching a new, simple intake system to report price gouging — call @MyLA311 to report illegally hiked rents and prices. We have no tolerance for it.

People say that Bitcoiners who got in early were lucky and didn’t have to work for it. That’s bullshit. HODLing is hard. Who else from the mainstream financial world could HODL onto an asset that swings up 10-40x then down 80%… multiple times!

Stop trying to scapegoat someone to take the fall for you. You failed California. The buck stops with you. Investigation concluded. Resign now.
NEW: I am calling for an independent investigation into the loss of water pressure to local fire hydrants and the reported unavailability of water supplies from the Santa Ynez Reservoir. We need answers to ensure this does not happen again and we have every resource available to fight these catastrophic fires.
