Harry Enten shows where votes are left in the razor-thin Mississippi Senate race and why he “fully” expects Democrat Scott Colom to flip this seat.
Scott Colom’s strong showing in Mississippi a clear a sign Democrats across the entire country should run on not taxing police officers.
it's always funny when someone says because if you remove NYC+surrounding county vote totals for both candidates Hochul **still** wins the state

Rural conservatives in deep-blue states are effectively governed without consent. In New York, Republicans win most counties yet still lose statewide by 20 points because dense urban and suburban voters in New York City and its suburbs cast the decisive ballots and vote overwhelmingly Democratic. The result is that rural and upstate communities pay the taxes, live under the regulations, and absorb the costs set by politicians they consistently reject. Same story in California and Illinois. Population density has become a veto over the rest of the state.

In 2024, Lauren Boebert made the unusual move to switch from representing the more competitive CO-03 to run in CO-04, Colorado's reddest seat.
Ironically, she is now an underdog to win in 2026, while her successor, Jeff Hurd (R), is probably a favorite to hold on.
Obviously, people have no memory of politics at all before Trump — but it’s just like literally look up the first administration of George W Bush after flipping Texas red in 1994.

Scott Colom purchased The Power Broker in 2008, kept it on the shelf for seven years and then took six months to finish it.
Extremely relatable.
Democrats won Ohio congressional District 11, home to the Legacy Village Cheesecake Factory 83.5%-16.5%.

At that same time, Jackson was running a prolific anonymous account in the Bangor Daily News comment section called "Canadians for LePage." (One of my favorite @KFILE and @emsteck stories of the cycle.) cnn.com/2026/07/30/politics/…
2013 LePage: "Sen. Jackson claims to be for the people but he's the first one to give it to the people without providing Vaseline ... This man is a bad person. He doesn't only have no brains, he has a black heart."
Those Troy Jackson/Paul LePage flights into DC are going to be something...
