everything looking the same isn't an ai problem. models hand u the median by default, dragging them off it, applying principles and institutionalizing it is the body of work.

macromedia fireworks walked so sketch could jog and figma could run. innovation needs stepping stones. which dead design tool would u resurrect?

ok since everyone's dunking on homeview, serious q: what would a screen on ur wall (or kitchen counter) have to do daily to earn the spot? i have thoughts.

lots of takes about homeview like it's a hardware problem. i dont think it is. it's an intentionality problem. nobody has designed what a wall actually wants from a screen yet. had the @skylightframe cal from day 1. great for a massive interactive cal on the wall. but that's about it.

Reverse engineered my AC, and vibe coded a lil status bar app so I don't have to find the remote every time. No first world problem will remain unsolved in 2026.

i think the north star workflow is a moving target and likely shape-shifts depending on the project, but here’s a client workflow i’ve worked with recently 👇 🔍 claude for deep research 📚 inspo offline more than ever lately ✍️ break the grid in figma, rawdog 🤖💪 claude via figma mcp cleans up, finds patterns, creates components, tokens and styles, writes design.md, builds highly configurable artifacts as prototypes, and builds the screens in figma for documentation
do any of u use claude design in ur workflow? how?

as the models get better, this whole process will likely change, but imo ai is very good at legwork in many ways. we designers were already like swiss army knives, but now we can actually function like one.

Now we know that Affleck is a programmer, that picture makes a lot more sense.
