If I read one more pitch about a Korean net net I will go crazy. I do not care even a bit about the business, that is not where the alpha is in that market.
There are so many cheap Korean names that I could post an article a day on net nets, or on growing companies at very low valuations there. That is the point. A cheap Korean company is not necessarily an opportunity when there are that many of them.
The variant view you need in Korea is whether the Value Up program works, whether governance actually improves, whether activism can succeed in the country. Write about that if you like that market.
Everyone knows it is cheap. What you should be telling me is why you think differently from a market that is pricing the whole country that way.
Happy $mako pr day, for those that celebrate.

I'm not one to be like "[that's not funny. meme]" but it's not a good idea to stigmatize this stuff. Romance scams (and whatever this scenario is) are rampant and if someone's not in a good state of mind, it can get them too. You'd be shocked how many people you know can fall for things like this, and you want them to feel comfortable asking for help if it does happen to them

A child who starts binding, takes a new name, or asks to be seen as the opposite sex has boarded a train. The line runs through new name and pronouns, to new clothes and haircut, to binding (or taping, or tucking), to blockers and hormones, and finally, to various surgeries. Every station exists to deliver passengers to the next one. Your child may tell you she plans to get off early, and she may even believe it. But her ticket still names the destination.
Look at what each early step is for. A binder is a crude, painful approximation of a male chest, and a mastectomy is the permanent version. A girl who darkens her peach fuzz mustache with mascara is imitating the facial hair testosterone would give her. A boy who shaves his body and grows out his hair is rehearsing what estrogen promises. These early steps are practice runs for the medical ones, and they make sense only in light of where they point. When a parent sees them and feels a cold drop in the stomach, that feeling is accurate perception; your gut has read the direction of travel correctly.
This is what I mean by shifting the burden of proof. Your child’s behavior has already made a claim about where she is headed. If she wants you to believe she will step off before the end of the line, the job of convincing you belongs to her, and “I’m not thinking about that” falls far short of the mark. Until she shows you otherwise, you are entitled to believe what you see.

Baby Lily Noelle stopped growing between 13-14 weeks.
Her humanity is undeniable.
She was beautifully formed, already with arms, legs, fingers and toes.
Her mother chose to share this photo to encourage women to reject abortion.
All babies deserve their chance at life.

Markets
Flow 09-Oct: USD 1.26bn confirmed opening, 70.8% calls. Top line is a 30,000-lot INTC Jan-2028 90/125 call spread. Biggest index print is a QQQ Dec 745 put at USD 51.6m. Stock replacement, not a CPI-week bet. #options #volatility
Mag7
Mag7 flow, 9 Oct: USD 178.0m confirmed opening, 56.5% calls vs 43.5% puts. The biggest put (NVDA 19-Feb-27 165, USD 13.0m) was sold on the bid. The biggest calls (TSLA, AMZN) printed mid. Plenty of size, no direction. #options #mag7
Crypto
Crypto-equity tape 09-Oct: 97% of confirmed-opening premium was calls. A USD 72.8m deep-ITM MSTR 50-strike line rolled into 16-Oct, plus a 157.5 to 167.5 call ladder a week out. Puts were 3% of premium. The dip got bought with convexity, not hedged. #options #MSTR #bitcoin
Biotech
XBI was the entire biotech ETF tape: USD 0.58m confirmed-opening premium, 65% puts. But the big put was one leg of a 143/153 spread, every put printed at mid, and the only ask-side trade was a 20-Nov 155 call. Direction unproven. #options #XBI #biotech
Metals
Metals, 9 Oct: calls took 78.7% of USD 18.1m confirmed-opening premium. GLD Dec 420 calls bought on the ask across four prints, about USD 2.25m. GDX Oct 90.5 and 93.5 calls opened on 20k volume against 369 OI, straight through CPI week. Puts were mostly sold. #gold #GDX
Energy
Energy flow 9 Oct: puts took 65.5% of USD 16.3m confirmed-opening premium. A 9,200-lot XLE Dec 64 put sweep led; MPC stacked 460 puts at two expiries; EQT Dec 47.5 puts were sold to open. Protection, not panic. #options #energy #XLE
Rates
TLT 9 Oct: a 169,585-lot Jan-2028 95 call block printed at mid, side unknown, two-thirds of the day's premium. Everything readable went the other way: Mar-2027 83 calls sold, Nov 78/79 calls sold, Jun-2027 76 puts sold. Paid to sell both wings at 5.25%. #TLT #options #rates
Risk-off
XLU carried the whole risk-off tape on 9 Oct: USD 1.0m confirmed opening, 92.5% of it puts, and the top line a 5,910-lot Nov 42 put sold to open. That reads as credit, not fear. No HYG print in the file at all. #options #XLU #volatility
Semis
Semis flow 9 Oct: 81.1% of USD 367.3m confirmed-opening premium went to calls, and half the day sat in one INTC Jan-2028 90/125 package (USD 183.0m, ToOpen). Near-dated AMD 620 calls were sold, NVDA Feb-27 165 puts sold for USD 13.0m. Long and patient, paid to wait. #options #semis
Financials
Financials flow 9 Oct: USD 14.7m confirmed opening, 54.6% calls. Top ticket is a BAC Jan-2029 55/37.5 put spread, USD 3.77m, printed at mid so the side is unknown. Six banks report 13-14 Oct and the tape is not pre-positioning loudly. #options #banks

WHO’S THE MAIN CHARACTER in The Abstinence?
❓ YOU DECIDE ❗️
We’re essentially naming George the main character (trumping Kramer’s tobacco lawsuit and Jerry’s career day bumping). Question is, does Elaine do enough in her flip side of the “no sex” story to share the title?
