I think this is the exception. My fam doc husband and his entire FHT have continued both in-person and virtual apps throughout the pandemic. They've done this WHILE continuing their hospitalist role caring for both covid and noncovid pts in hospital (1/2)

The vast majority of ON family physicians (96%) ARE open & caring for patients, including in person visits for babies, pregnant pts, immunizations, PAPs, & concerns that require hands-on exam. And most don't know when they'll get their #CovidVaccine.

False. Most family docs despite limited PPE continued to see people in person throughout the pandemic. We don’t do mammograms, we order them, so don’t blame us for late presentations of cancer. Colon ca testing was temporarily suspended so we couldn’t even do screen if we wanted

This is not true. Family MD - never stopped seeing patients. Most Family MDs I know are staffing COVID assessment centres, doing home visits, and seeing patients in clinic when needed while keeping patients safe by doing as much virtual care as possible.

Fam docs are propping the system up for years. I work 6 d/wk, seeing patients in person for all necessary visits, for illness & preventative care! I’m offended and discouraged by the mudslinging of people in power! From the govts & CEOs. We need support! Not mud! Enough!!
