Opinion | If Kamala Harris had taken my complaints about the price of airport whiskey more seriously she might’ve won on Tuesday.

I am sure some wonderful journalism will come out of this grant. Do donate if you can.
We @econhardship have launched the James Ledbetter Fund for Reporting and Criticism in honor of the late author & Board member (and one of my favorite people). Please check it out, share it, donate and/or apply! @mashagessen @KatrinaNation @onthemedia

I don’t know where the dance world would be without Judith Jamison. Alvin Ailey made “Cry” specially for her & all Black Women. Her legacy & what she brought to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a dancer & director changed culture as we know it.

To anyone who intends to come take away the freedom, opportunity, and dignity of Illinoisans, I would remind you that a happy warrior is still a warrior.
You come for my people – you come through me.

Donald Trump was elected by Americans to defend the interests of Americans.
The question we, as Europeans, must ask ourselves is, are we ready to defend the interests of Europeans?

Despite everything, I'm so grateful that the Harris campaign introduced America to Tim Walz and his entire family. I genuinely hope that his model of masculinity serves as a positive example for young men in desperate need of one.

Thank you Vice President @KamalaHarris for putting your faith in me, and selecting me as your running mate. Campaigning at your side was the honor and privilege of my life.

Yday, this is what I told my folks:
We have a professional & moral obligation to cover this administration, with energy, rigor & imagination. We are here to record what they do, when, and what the consequences are. That’s our job & our calling.
Got a tip? Get in touch:
ProPublica's @eisingerj to his staff: "We face the biggest test of our professional lives. Now we get to see if we really meant it when we said we will hold power to account. Will we do so when our subjects have true power on their side and a willingness to use it? We may be harassed. We may be sued. We may be threatened with violence. We may be ignored. Are we just sunshine journalists or are we ready?" propublica.org/article/secon…

We won't mince words. The reelection of Donald Trump is a disaster for the Boundary Waters. This is not hyperbole. This is not a case of Trump-Derangement Syndrome. This is based on Trump’s campaign promises and attacks he has already made on the Boundary Waters.🧵

While many are talking about losing hope or moving to other countries, Native people have survived under U.S. government leaders that wanted us dead since the very beginning. This is still Native land, and will always be Native land. We never had the luxury to stop fighting.

A few years back in Yosemite there was a problem with bears getting into trash cans and ppl said ‘why not make the cans more complex?’ And a ranger said ‘bc there is significant overlap between the smartest bear and dumbest human’ and this election feels like that quote to me

If you are looking for something to take your mind off politics — this interview I did with Quincy Jones years ago really is a great listen.
We lost the unmatched @QuincyDJones this week.
Listen to this classic interview by @michele_norris in which the legend tells his story in his own words. Come for the Chicago mobsters, stay for Ray Charles.

In order to vote in his first election, my father paid a poll tax. My dad. Not my great great grandfather, my father. He is very much still alive. He voted today. No poll tax required. I am so proud to his daughter.
