well, our daughter had other plans and decided election day was too far away to make her grand entrance into the world. she was born yesterday at 3:33a. my husband and i are feeling all the things (me especially, thanks to painkillers), and baby girl is doing so well!!

people have said it before but the whole shortform video / youtube / podcast content industry is so extractive of actual newsroom labor, and as far as I can tell very few of those studios have hard news operations, reporters / checkers / researchers...
the number of foreign blue check accounts posting negative bullshit about “low paying” degrees should raise alarm bells for anyone with a modicum of media literacy (something that will vanish if we effectively kill the humanities and social sciences).
