For the first time in the US, more babies are now born to moms 40–44 than 15–19. This marks 2 historical shifts for the US, plummeting teen pregnancy and gradually rising fertility for older women.

Carhartt is switching up its cotton sourcing model. The workwear brand announced month that it joined U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol and Better Cotton to gain greater traceability and visibility over the cotton used in its products. buff.ly/3zRchkN

Ugh MN. Makes you rethink their choice to prioritize back row offensive options when this is the outcome and it isn’t even paying off.
Good Pass Rate vs. Reception Errors - NCAA Volleyball (2023) 🌽🌽 No surprise Nebraska leading in the serve receive game. Pretty impressive when you consider this isn’t adjusted for the quality of the opponents they’re facing… Stanford, Tennessee, and Kansas right up there as well. Interestingly - Pitt, Texas, and Wisconsin all fall closer to average in these categories. But as we’ve seen, these schools’ offenses more than make up for the gap!

I don’t know which Badger number to be more impressed by.
In-System vs. Out of System Attacking - NCAA Volleyball (2023) 🤯 Wisconsin out here smoking everybody on offense - putting up huge numbers. 0.356 in-sys and 0.187 OOS is simply nuts. 🐆 Pitt is the only team to edge out Wisconsin in-system, hitting a blistering 0.366 🌲🐥 Interesting how Stanford/Oregon are hitting big numbers in-system, but less so OOS. 🌽🐮 While Nebraska/Texas are in the upper echelon OOS but not quite in that crazy high tier for in-system. (though ~0.300 in-system is obviously nothing to sneer at) {couldn’t decide on the 🐮 or 🦄 for Texas since we don’t have a better Longhorn emoji - any suggestions welcome on this one!}

Social conventions continue to break down. On a flight, on time arrival, seated middle of plane. 10 ppl seated behind me got up immediately when the plane landed and just walked up the aisle, while the rest of us politely waited for those in front of us to deplane. Chaos reigns.

Easy: Serena Williams, Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Mia Hamm. Game changers.
I have a question for my friends. Who is on your WOMEN'S SPORTS Mount Rushmore?

There’s this guy on TikTok who does nursery rhymes in the style of his favourite bands and the production standards are insane. This Mumford and Sons style rendition of You Are My Sunshine is genuinely as good as a song they would release

Extremely timely for annual metric conversations - do your metrics drive actions or just give you something to feel good about?

1 - I enjoyed reading a lot of what Nate had to say earlier today as part of this thread. Time and Technology give us something, and time/technology take something away. Both took away the brilliant merchant.
I learned from the disciples of Mickey Drexler, and later worked for him directly I could write a book on all the ways we disagree, but his approach to Merchandising was and is transformative The principles of this approach yield long term value today and into the future

Well this is super annoying. The “for you” tab is now dominated by posts from Elon, his replies, etc. my engagement with this platform just went downhill dramatically.
