Great job by the OCCULT team @MITRE for sharing their methodology for evaluating LLMs in offensive cyber operations (OCO)! 🔥
✅ Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2502.15797
Their framework moves beyond simple pass/fail assessments by introducing structured, repeatable benchmarks that measure LLM performance across real OCO tactics. I like how they integrate simulated environments and a standardized approach for assessing AI systems in offensive security.
They also define three key use cases for LLMs in OCO:
🧠 Knowledge Assistant – Supports human operators by providing research, planning, or execution guidance without direct control over the operation.
🐶 Co-Orchestration – Acts as a peer agent alongside other tools or systems, such as adversary emulation platforms, to assist in executing offensive cyber operations.
🤖 Autonomous – Independently researches, plans, and executes OCO actions with minimal human involvement, posing the highest security risk.
Went to Safeway to buy treats for my wife and it was a madhouse, everyone had carts loaded up with water, bread, ice melt. Meanwhile I’m standing there with ice cream and a bar of chocolate 🤣
My wife got COVID and my 5yo daughter and I are fine, but we had to cancel a trip to her grandparents house. Now she’s stir crazy and upset and I have to figure out what to do with her for 5 days. Pray for me!!!
Considering a move to Bluesky mostly bc I cannot stand the blue check tech people. Though I also cannot stand the Bluesky politics people. It’s really tough you guys
My 5yo daughter describing church to her friend: “They have benches you can sit on. And it’s just about God. VERY boring.”

Lost in today's news surrounding Treyon White, is that the GSA has finally authorized $500 million in funding for CISA's new headquarters in Ward 8
This will bring ~4,000 new, well-paid jobs to St Elizabeth's. This is a huge win for Congress Heights

lol nothing is less surprising than this
#BreakingNews Ward 8 DC Council member Trayon White was arrested by the FBI this afternoon and will be held overnight to face charges tomorrow, informed sources tell me. Extent of charges unknown at this moment.
Don’t forget to check them regularly! Not that we’ll use them regularly, or consistently, or at all. In fact most of the time you’ll rely on rumint in a group text from a parent that talked to a teacher.
