One-sentence review: A poem about love and compromise. An unconventional love poem.

I don’t know about you, but it makes my toes curl when I hear TV and radio presenters use endonyms for places that have perfectly good exonyms (example Kyiv rather than Kiev).
Why don’t we just use endonyms for all countries/places? Wouldn’t that be polite?
Nope.

A poem about the change of the seasons for this week’s @TopTweetTuesday. Thanks to @MatthewMCSmith for hosting..
This is an abridged version of one of three short observational poems I had in @PaulDragonwolf1’s “Starbeck Orion Summer Feast” earlier in the year. You can see (and hear) them all here..

Just realised that @LukeHaines_News, one of my favourite songwriters ever, has had a new album out for a few weeks. (I used to know these things.) Trying to listen to it, but the first track has got the start time for Worzel Gummidge wrong (5.30pm on Sundays) which annoys me..
Wait, what? We’ve made an artificial cell that can self-replicate? And nobody told me til I read this @tomgauld cartoon… 😯
My latest cartoon for @newscientist. Inspired by recent news about the SpudCell. NS subscribers can read about it here: newscientist.com/article/253…

ALT Title: The artificial cell's diary Panel 1: An oval green cell with a face opens its eyes. Caption: Woke up to the scientists discussing whether I was alive or just exhibiting some of the symptoms. Panel 2: The cell looks thoughtful Caption: A bit heavy for first thing in the morning. Panel 3: The cell eats some little dots in the liquid around it. Caption: Had a swim, then ate some of the molecule soup that I live in. My day is pretty much all soup-based. Panels 4: The cell looks uncomfortable Caption: Then I began to feel rather odd. Panel 5 and 6: the cell hseems to be splitting in two Caption: But, I saved the big news for last: Panel 7: The cell smiles. A new, smaller cell smiles back. Caption: I made a new friend!

Picked up my copy of “dissolution” today, a new anthology of poems put together by @TheDarkestStar_ and @larotondereview and themed “poems at the edge of disappearance.” Interested to see how others have interpreted this…
