As an O, this is both an interesting & perhaps a more challenging tie for us than most will think.
The O’s will face @HarbTownFC at home in the first round of the @EmiratesFACup!

Calling all sport investors....
Who wants to step up for this great opportunity? Potentially a very decent NLS club with prospects (in the right hands) in a delightful setting.
Matlock Town FC is now available...

Grassroots Anonymous Confessions
On the way back to the car after Sunday’s match, I overheard a conversation I clearly wasn't meant to hear.
“We’d have won if he’d kept the strongest players on. Some of them just aren’t good enough, they're not up to standard"
A few minutes earlier, I’d watched one of those kids being called "not good enough" come off the pitch absolutely beaming. They’d tried something they’d been practising for weeks, and their teammates had cheered them on.
That child was mine. Because the conversation was about my child.
They’re not the quickest or the most confident. Sometimes they need an extra touch. Sometimes they get it wrong. But they look forward to football all week because their coach makes them feel they belong,.and quite frankly they're 8.
While some adults were analysing the game like a world cup knocknout game, and discussing who should have played less, the children were laughing together and asking what snacks everyone had brought.
Our team plays U8s non-competitive football. Equal playing time is part of the club’s approach. This was fine at the start, but now some parents don't like it.
I wonder how many coaches go home feeling defeated, even when the children go home happy, because of overheard conversations like this.
So thank you to the coaches who make room for everyone. Who notice the nervous child. Who celebrate small improvements. Who put thought into giving every player a fair chance.
For some children, having an adult believe in them is the very thing that keeps them coming back.
Thanks to my coach for having my child's back

I've been arguing for years that these goals need to be regulated. Temu style structures are littering our pitches, endangering footballers and skewing game results. Some cannot even be properly braked and move when pushed. The FA don't want to know - until someone is badly hurt
It's time these temporary goals are banned. A clear goal by any measure. Referee too central to have a view, lino not in line. A good game ruined by ineptitude. Its awful. @utdcos
Lowestoft's problems deepen. The club cry out for cash but, surely they need to shout for a new owner? This in an investment waiting to happen. It needs to.
Sadly, it's all kicked off at the Hellenic League. Read on ⬇️

Back on the open market, it seems. There must be a viable and decent owner in waiting for this club. Surely?
Such a great initiative from
@EssexSenior .....
Too far down for the cameras. Too far up to be a kickabout. Forgotten in the middle.

It's all gone down at Dunmow Town. It's not often we hear this side of things rather than the usual mutual agreement & muted thanks.
And why is there not a football ground in this town? With the incessant house building going on there where are the sporting 106 monies?

The PFA are the Union for pro-players. Why aren't pro player subscriptions to their own Union (as a percentage of income) covering the costs of their Union? A welfare tax on players agent fees would do the job? That could free up all this money to cover the EPL grassroots pledge
A bit late to announce this? The competitions have started for this season. @FA Commercial Department has clearly dropped the ball here. What is happening to the prize fund?
🚨 🏆 @Isuzuuk are no longer sponsoring the FA Trophy and FA Vase following the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign, The NLP can confirm.

Simon Jordan nails it. Football will eventually eat itself with these daft rules, you have 14 clubs existing to supply 6. Overachieve & you have to sell them your best players, what an incentive eh! I don’t think I’ve got many seasons left, it’s not the game I fell in love with.
Have to say this is brilliant from @Sjopinion10 shuts down the "well you cant blame the Manchester Uniteds & Arsenals for FFP" perfectly. Need more people with the balls to call out the Premier League for what it is, a cartel. The Super League but by a different name. #nufc #avfc
