We absolutely need to demolish and rebuild far less often - and start doing this without delay! Though the case for building vs not building new infrastructure such as HS2 is more nuanced - depending on whether it can save CO2 in the long-term.
Stop demolition, engineers say. There's carbon emissions embodied in your walls, roof and floor. bbc.co.uk/news/science-envir… @RAEngNews @ArchitectsJrnal @RIBA_London @burohappold @UniStrathclyde @imperialcollege

As Phase 2 at Whipton Barton School nears completion, looking at the before and after photos really shows how much the refurbishment was needed to provide the children with a fresh and more encouraging place to learn. @kiergroup #refurbishment #school

Great to see the progress on the third phase at #LauncestonMedicalCentre. Well done to the whole team for making sure it’s been fully operational during the works thus far - no mean feat, especially in a global pandemic! #pollard @SummersInman @assuraplc @hydrocknews

A fantastic project, which adds to Fore Street’s unique charm. Glad to see the building handed over! @hydrocknews @GraingeArch @URBNLtd
One of our projects handed over at the end of last week - City Arcade in Fore Street, Exeter. Finishing this during COVID added a level of complexity, but @URBNLtd and their supply chain have done a great job to complete on time.

In the time it takes you to read this tweet, humans will have released about 6,000 more tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
