Rush hour, but make it Dolly. 🤠🎻
The brilliant @TheCBSO brought a little Tennessee to Birmingham New Street with a surprise performance of 9 to 5.
Even Ozzy the Bull woke up for it. ❤️

📢 INJUNCTION APPLICATION
Today, the council submitted an injunction application to the High Court as part of our ongoing work to manage unauthorised attachments on the highway, including flags, banners and signage.
This action follows a structured, evidence-led process and is focused on public safety, lawful highway management, community cohesion and the responsible use of public funds.
Community engagement will continue alongside the legal process.
A link to the application can be found in the comments.

Jason Arday was hounded by the British media to death.
188 articles in 9 days.
249 articles in 22 days.
Over plagiarism controversy.
Nathan Cofnas—a sacked Cambridge race-theorist—started the allegations.
As someone who has experienced a smear campaign, I can tell you with full certainty that it can take you into total darkness.
They forget they are dealing with a human being. They forget it is someone's entire life they are tearing apart.
This is what sinister journalism does.
Shame on the British media.

I’m a bit out of the loop with the news. What exactly has Starmer done that he has to resign? It can’t just be because some people don’t like him because that’s true of every prime minister ever.
If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...

There was a council report that showed a map of tree canopy coverage and another of where you get extreme heat and they are literally the inverse of each other.
Planting far more trees and increasing our canopy coverage needs to be embedded in council policy asap.

If you voted Conservative between 2010 and 2024, then you don't really have a right to complain about the sluggish growth, the gutting of our armed forces, the ballooning welfare bill, the shit in our rivers and sea, or the open borders.

Jews all over the world are not responsible for the actions of the Zionist State of Israel!
Israel doesn't represent the Jewish people!"

I've just been chatting with Nick Cullinan, the excellent new director of the British Museum, and I'm very relieved to say that the story put by the Daily Telegraph about the BM cancelling the name Palestine is a complete misrepresentation of the facts:
"To reassure you we are not removing mention from Palestine from our labels," Nick told me. "Indeed, we have a display on at the moment about Palestine and Gaza.
"I know this is something our curators have thought long and hard about - as you can imagine. We amended two panels in our ancient Levant gallery last year during a regular gallery refresh, when some wording was amended to reflect historical terms.
"To be honest, the even more frustrating and concerning thing is that I knew nothing about this until yesterday and has only been explained to me this morning. I hadn’t even seen that [UK Lawyers for Israel] letter despite asking for it until this morning. I’m disgusted by the whole thing."
The question remains why the Daily Telegraph would put out such a mischief-making story without first fact checking it with the Directors office.

I'm old enough to remember when virtually everybody in the working class Lancashire town I grew up in voted Labour. Most workers were in unions & most of us were proud democratic socialists. We knew who our opponents were, it wasn't our areas Pakistani community who had come to work hard in our cotton mills; our enemies were the rich, the Tories who didn't want to pay their fair share into society and didn't give a damn for worker's rights & conditions. The country has changed in the past 50 years, but my values have not and never will. Social justice for all, regardless of class, gender, sexuality or ethnicity. I'd rather chop off my hand than vote for the right - Tory or Reform.

“Why did the Palestinians initiate this on Oct 7?”
Max Blumenthal (Jew): “They didn’t. This war has been going on for 75 years. Israel initiated it in 1948 by ethnically cleansing 750,000 people.”
