For those of you not from DC - this means runners, bicyclists, families, sightseers would all be displaced from Hains Point - so that a high-end golf course could be built minutes from the U.S. Capitol and White House.
Trump releases his plan to re-do the East Potomac Park golf course in DC. His graphic does not show the current road which runs around Hains Point, or the picnic and memorial areas at the end. Getting rid of those public areas would be terrible.

Only 3 teams will be able to pay Skenes ~15 million dollar salary in arb 2
Looking forward to Skenes ending his career on one of 3 teams and all the mlb reporters saying “trading Skenes is the smartest thing the pirates can do”

Binnington has been beyond terrible for a couple years now and Blues fans blame the measurably stout defense for the fact that he’s trash and it’s infuriating.
The day Binnington gets traded or leaves, it’s going to be interesting to hop on this app shortly after and see who Blues fans blame when Hofer starts getting the same results Iced the puck on the powerplay, defense was asleep all night, and Ryan O’Reilly put Robert Thomas in the corner staring at the microwave for 60 mins but we’re talking about goaltending

Running the ball for a loss of a yard on both 1st and 2nd down was certainly a decision.

Is someone going to tell Drink you can’t punt your way back into the game.

I’m other but if you punt down 18, you are just conceding the game.
Just keep punting, Drink, you've got the Drink-on-the-road playbook on lock today

Without even accounting for league revenue growth, the lowest payroll teams are laughably cheap. Since 2012 the cumulative inflation rate is ~46%, yet their payrolls have been hardly budged Pretty glaring evidence that your “small market” owner is certainly lying to you
Why is the salary cap discussion happening now? Why not in the mid 2010s? The league's highest spenders have drastically increased their payrolls since 2022. The gap is growing, and teams like the Dodgers/Mets are overpaying for talent.

Your reminder that the cultural, geographical, logistical, and political center of the country is and always has been St Louis
This is a very fair ranking of Midwestern states.

In a capped league the money is always the same you imbecile.
Replying to @GaijinBaseball
I think this idea that the Pirates aren't trying is about 3 years out of date They are, just no one is going to choose Pittsburgh if the money is the same.

Also if the Pirates couldn’t beat 2/34 for Murakami or 4/60 for Okamoto they aren’t trying you buffoon.

Pirates fans deserve their Bob Nutting Mandated century of humiliation.
I am going to say this 1 more time. If you claim to be a “fan” of 2 teams in the same sports league, your opinion is absolutely worthless and your right to talk sports should be taken away If you claim to be a fan of 2 teams please unfollow me. I dont like you and i hate everything you stand for.

The Brewers have been seemingly already been declared World Series champions so I would love for the AL team to shit on them,
26
That’s because Mets fans aren’t people and didn’t deserve his respect.
Joe Buck got better as his career went along, but it’s wild how many people get mad at you for pointing out that he was a crazy homer that was also a gigantic wet blanket during some of the biggest highlights of the 21st century

JJ Wetherholt makes that play up the middle that Brice Turang just missed.

Pirates and Marlins fans when you tell them their billionaire owner gets to make more money with revenue share while barely spending more to hit a cap floor

Not one was saying that about the Nats or Royals. Everyone was fairly surprised the Royals did what they did, and don’t expect it to continue. The Nats were an old roster that at the time seemed like they might be on their last ride.
Everyone said it about the Royals. Never happened. Everyone said it about the Nats. Never happened. Astros were closest to dodgers and had a younger team. But asterisk. Everyone said the Braves in 2021. Never happened.

Not to defend Jomboy but you do realize he’s talking about brining in a reliever who is already warming up a few pitches earlier.
Incredibly embarrassing Do you know how long it takes pitchers to warm up? Managers used to stall with mound visits to let relievers warm up Figure five minutes if we need a number To make this work, you have to constantly have pitcher warm up on POSSIBILITY of getting to 3-2?

This is my favorite cap argument because there’s no correlation with a cap and keeping your stars. If Skenes wants to leave Pittsburgh, he’s leaving Pittsburgh. There are only 21 NBA players who are going into their 7th year or more of service with the same team that drafted them
A salary cap lets small market teams keep their star players like every other major sport instead of having to find ways of replacing them every 5-6 years. That’s the biggest thing that should be brought up.
