ICYMI: Indiana Republicans delivered a TON of major common sense conservative policy wins this last year , and the media is barely covering them. Here’s a list of some of my favorites: ✅ SEA 256 blocks foreign adversaries like Communist China from buying up Hoosier land or getting state contracts. (I cosponsored) ✅ HEA 1406 cuts off IEDC tax-credit giveaways to companies tied to China and other foreign adversaries. (my amendment) ✅ SEA 243 eliminates state income tax on qualified tips and qualified overtime ✅ SEA 285 restores public spaces by addressing unlawful public camping in parks, sidewalks, and other public property. ✅ SEA 76 requires compliance with ICE detainers and bars employers from knowingly recruiting, hiring, or continuing to employ illegal aliens. ✅ HEA 1200 requires truck drivers to demonstrate English proficiency and cracks down on nondomiciled CDLs. ✅ SEA 91 bars syringe-exchange fixed sites within 1,000 feet of schools, churches, and other protected facilities. (my amendment) ✅ HEA 1001, 2025 budget delivers universal school choice for every Hoosier family, regardless of income. ✅ SEA 1 stops SNAP dollars from being spent on candy and soft drinks, requires immigration-status checks for SNAP and Medicaid, and restores Medicaid work requirements and requires ongoing eligibility verification. ✅ HEA 1408 protects kids online from Big Tech, predatory algorithms, and social-media abuse. ✅ SEA 78 kicks phones out of classrooms so students can learn instead of scrolling TikTok all day. ✅ SEA 88 puts good citizenship back in the curriculum and requires public colleges to accept the Classic Learning Test just like the ACT or SAT. ✅ HEA 1035 protects free-range parenting because letting your kid walk to the park, ride a bike, or play outside is not neglect. ✅ HEA 1004 cuts school bureaucracy so education dollars can go to classrooms, teachers, families, and students. ✅ SEA 200 gives Scouts and military recruiters better access to students. ✅ SEA 204 protects religious objections to vaccines in certain clinical-training settings. ✅ SEA 2 strengthens bail procedures so dangerous offenders can be held when the state meets the legal burden. ✅ SJR 1 advances the constitutional amendment for bail reform. ✅ SEA 9 requires defendants to be present for victim-impact statements. ✅ HEA 1250 requires notice before certain serious violent felons are released. ✅ SEA 160 makes committing a crime while masked a sentencing aggravator. ✅ HEA 1303 strengthens our sex-crime and child-safety laws. ✅ SEA 140 cracks down on doxing and intimidation. ✅ SEA 284 reins in civilian police oversight boards so unelected activist boards do not have binding power over law enforcement. ✅ HEA 1343 gives the Indiana National Guard military police authority when called to state active duty. ✅ SEA 176 protects shooting ranges from nuisance claims, zoning games, and anti-2A harassment. ✅ HEA 1274 stops insurance pressure campaigns against businesses over gun-free-zone signs. ✅ SEA 12 bans ranked-choice voting. ✅ HEA 1389 protects religious adoption and foster-care providers from government discrimination. ✅ SEA 139 exempts breastfeeding mothers from jury duty. ✅ HEA 1165 strengthens animal-cruelty laws and gives people tools to rescue animals from hot cars. ✅ HEA 1424 helps small farmers and homestead food sellers escape bureaucracy. ✅ HEA 1273 takes on ESG-style corporate games through proxy-advisor reforms. ✅ SEA 6 limits municipal eminent-domain abuse for water and wastewater projects outside municipal boundaries. ✅ HEA 1152 reins in rogue HOAs. ✅ HEA 1115 requires more HOA transparency and governance reform. ✅ SEA 270 starts the process of merging townships because Indiana has too many layers of local government. ✅ SEA 4 requires fiscal-impact review for executive orders. ✅ HEA 1003 streamlines and eliminates unnecessary state boards and commissions.
