Thrilled to share our latest work: complement modulation is being explored for slowing geographic atrophy in #maculardegeneration. Dr. @SteliosSerghiou, Dr. Miller, Dr. Vavvas, and I explore *when* complement dysfunction occurs relative to AMD stage cc @HMSeye #doubledocs
In systematic review, authors find systemic complement over-activation is a feature of early to intermediate and advanced nonexudative AMD. Yet given significant heterogeneity, these findings are not conclusive and warrant further investigation. ow.ly/X3jf50HOxRF
