There is no law that requires a bicyclist to ride in a bike lane. Even on streets with bike lanes. Bicycles, like cars, are vehicles as defined by Minnesota state statute.

Our heart goes out to family & friends of Jose Hernandez. Let's all hope & pray that he can somehow recover. Jose was run over while biking home from work in St. Paul early Sunday by a red-light-running driver who left him for dead & fled the scene.
