„Bochum hat sich in den vergangenen 20 Jahren zu einem Hotspot der IT-Sicherheitsforschung entwickelt", sagt MP @HendrikWuest. An der @ruhrunibochum arbeiten über 200 Wissenschaftlerinnen & Wissenschaftler z.B. daran, KI-generierte Bilder ohne Kennzeichnung als Fakes zu erkennen.

I share this observation: Research using deep learning is now all about innovation. Understanding doesn't matter. This will work for a while, but I doubt we can have real scientifc progress without understanding. I think we need more of these dos & don'ts papers, unfortunately 🤷♂️
