Feeling proud to be part of the @Lambethgp administration at Lambeth today. Two estates saved from demolition, and an additonal 200 empty council homes to filled by Christmas.
A huge well done to the campaigners who fought for decades, and to my colleagues who made it happen.

For 12 years, Lambeth tried to demolish Central Hill and Cressingham Gardens and left homes empty. Not anymore!
Cllr Pete Elliott said this will end "years of uncertainty and put the focus where it belongs: repairing homes, supporting communities and filling empty properties.”
This is me telling them 12 years ago! Your commitment to this @pete556 over so many years has been unwavering 💪 It’s so incredible to see this!
Finally after 12 years of struggle and suffering, the recommendation from Lambeth council is to not proceed with demolition of Cressingham or Central Hill. We could have told them that 12 years ago....and we did! ✊🎉

Hundreds here at the national anti-austerity summit at @hackneycouncil, the first step to building a wider movement.
We need an alliance of councillors, trade unionists and campaigners to build it, and that is exactly who is in the room
Behind these words is a young man whose life has ended at just 25 years old. Someone with people who knew him, loved him and expected him to be here today and for many years to come.
Nothing we say today can lessen that loss. We are working closely with the police and other agencies to do everything we can to tackle this violence and prevent another family having to experience such a terrible loss. But our thoughts today are first and foremost with his family and friends.
An arrest has been made. If you witnessed what happened around Willington Road or Landor Road last night, or have information that could help, please contact the police.

I’ve spoken with the police this morning, have been in touch with members of the local community and ward councillors. Lambeth Council will support the police in every way we can as they carry out their investigation.
There will be an increased police presence in the area today. If you witnessed anything or have any information, please contact the police on 101 quoting reference 1474/25July, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
A murder investigation has been launched following fatal stabbing in Clapham earlier today.

We're backing a legal challenge by @TowerHamletsNow, @LewishamCouncil and @hackneycouncil to the Mayor of London's reduction of affordable housing requirements, from 35% to just 20% 🏠
With 29,000 people on council waiting lists, we must build more affordable housing, not less.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of the person who has tragically lost their life following an incident in the Westow Hill area of Crystal Palace this morning.
News like this is deeply upsetting and will be concerning for many local residents in Lambeth, Bromley and Croydon. I want to thank the emergency services who responded so quickly.
The police investigation is ongoing and I would encourage anyone with information that could assist to contact the police.
Lambeth is a strong community and we stand with everyone affected by this tragedy. news.met.police.uk/news/murd…
.@jon_bartley is right. But it is not just Green voters who want public OWNERSHIP of our water. It is also Labour, Reform, Conservative and Liberal Democrat voters.
Andy Burnham must truly represent something new and different.

The “corridor of sanctuary” is coming soon to London.
The Green Party opposes a culture of fear that deters victims and witnesses from coming forward. We prioritise removing rapist and child molesters from our streets over targeting domestic violence survivors who overstay visas
