I was happy to speak with Kaanita Iyer on the ethical concerns posed by these cash gifts.
"John Ronquillo, an associate public policy professor at the University of Maryland, pointed to the amount of the cash gift — nearly one-third of the aides’ salary — as a point of concern."
President Donald Trump gave Natalie Harp and two other White House aides $45,000 each in cash gifts, according to financial disclosure statements. cnn.it/4ifptV3

Excellent experience from the beginning to the end! I enjoyed my time this weekend attending the Inaugural Public Leadership Research Summit at UMD's School of Public Policy. Thank you Cullen C. Merritt, @johnron, and the IPL team for the invitation and the opportunity!!! – at College Park, MD
I was happy to chime in on @amieparnes’s story today on the rise of Wes Moore and and his potential as a presidential contender in 2028.
Democrats have been talking up Wes Moore quite a bit lately.
We took a look at why a lot of Dems feel he’s the one to lead them out of the wilderness.

"While Trump retains the ceremonial position of Head of State, signing executive orders with flourish and basking in symbolic pageantry, Musk has effectively become Head of Government, wielding unprecedented control over federal agencies." -@johnron hubs.ly/Q03bKm6w0
New from me on @DemocracyDocket. Happy Presidents’ Day.
NEW: Elon Musk's position to reform the federal government is an unprecedented attempt to split the traditional role of the president and create a shadow government that fundamentally alters our constitutional order, argues John C. Ronquillo of @IPLatUMD. hubs.ly/Q036H6v90

Major kudos to @HoCoGovExec Calvin Ball for this local response to the dismantling of the federal government and its effect on the area workforce.
As the Trump administration moves to dramatically reduce and reshape the federal workforce, Howard County is standing up resources for government workers facing job loss or disruption. buff.ly/40Lu7Qh
More slash and burn: the Federal Executive Institute is being eliminated. This effectively kills a fundamental and crucial program for leadership development and training in our government. whitehouse.gov/presidential-…

I lived in Aurora, CO for nearly a decade. I narrowly lost an at-large city council seat there in ‘21 because I was outspent 10:1 by those fueling the hyperbolic lies Trump is telling. Aurora has always had a conservative majority on council. Trump knows nothing about Aurora.
Donald Trump opens the debate falsely claiming that migrants are "taking over" the "town" of Aurora, Colorado. City leaders and Aurora Police have said a Venezuelan gang has not taken over apartment buildings, let alone the entire city of Aurora, population 400,000. #copolitics
See you tomorrow in Ocean City!
