Bill Clinton: “I’m tired of the way we treat our allies like dirt. And just last week, President Trump finally did what he threatened to do when he first ran, which is to abandon Ukraine and embrace Vladimir Putin all over again.”
I hope the American people are also tired of it

Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just “done a deal” with Hitler. George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.

Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough.
President Trump should rescind the diesel deal with Russia and use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose harsh sanctions on nations purchasing Russian energy, work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

Two days ago in the United States, the American delegation reportedly informed Ukraine that sanctions on Putin were going to be lifted and that Kyiv was expected to stop hitting Russian oil refineries.
It is hard to say which part was more remarkable, the proposal itself or the assumption that Ukraine would simply nod along.
Kyrylo Budanov did not nod along. As the meeting ended and people were already heading for the door, he is said to have told the Americans directly:
"We are now going to burn every last Russian refinery and every last port to hell. All of it, down to the final one."
The Americans reportedly had nothing to say in return, which is what tends to happen when people who are used to dictating terms meet someone who has no intention of accepting them.
Washington can draw whatever conclusions it likes, but Ukraine has made it plain that its defense against Russian aggression is not subject to American permission!

The United States government is now a funder of state sponsored terrorism.
I know that sounds political and hyperbolic, but it is factually true. Russia is intentionally targeting civilians in Ukraine at scale, and Trump is intentionally funding their efforts.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel.
If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day.
Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine.
As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia.
America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration.
Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him.
America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Trump’s deal with Putin is illegal.
In 2022, the US Congresses passed the Ending Importation of Russian Oil Act, explicitly prohibiting the import of russian energy resources into the United States.
Legally, Trump is not allowed to make a deal with Putin. But I guess MAGA have passed the point of no return a long time ago. So, I have no hope that anyone will oppose the Fuerer.

Sweden's position is the same as it has been since February 24 2022: we will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. Now more pressure needs to be put on Russia and more support needs to be provided for Ukraine.
We regret the US agreement with Russia to supply diesel, as energy revenues are a vital source of funding Russia’s war of aggression.
On Monday, the EU will adopt the largest sanctions package to date, listing 1,600 entities in the Russian military industrial complex. This is - in contrast - a welcome step.
More countries also need to do more against the shadow fleet and eventually make use of the frozen Russian assets to the benefit of Ukraine. In all of this, we need to stay closely coordinated in the EU and with the US, UK and other international partners.
The broad political and popular support in Sweden for Ukraine is a strength and an asset in these turbulent times. Sweden stands with Ukraine, and Ukraine’s freedom and sovereignty remains our foremost foreign policy priority.
