The worst part of all this, is as SSB reported that food prices increased by 6.6% year-over-year, the central bank then uses that as an excuse to to further increase the interest rate. That is adding insult to injury.

youtube.com/watch?v=csHdwHTt… I found videos like these almost too easy to bash on Google Maps when you don’t have to say what alternatives do you use instead. I do use Google Maps for cycling navigation in Oslo and it is generally reliable.
Twice a year, there is a week or two when the daylight savings time changes don’t align between the US and Europe, as an employee of an American company working in Europe, that’s where is chaos begins, next week will be another round of that.
Can’t believe @Fly_Norwegian is still doing this after all these years.
It is great to see our team’s work this year announced at last (literally every single picture here have our fingerprints on it), enjoy!
UPS is truly the worst here in Norway: no delivery attempt, no calls, nothing. Driver straight lying to say a delivery has been attempted and the parcel went straight to a pickup point. Happened many times.
apple.com/newsroom/2025/03/l… looks like something I worked on a little just got announced.
It is true that everyone wants it, but it is also true that almost everyone would say “if I could just have that one feature added”, and for each one that “one feature” is different. That’s how we ended up with feature creep.
Quite disappointed by Oslo city services in our neighborhood this winter: snow plowing has been significantly delayed, the work was quite sloppy. Now today would have been a perfectly fine day for cycling except for the road surface being totally icy…
…some gravel would have solved that, but the city has put almost no gravel at all on the road (and sidewalks), making it extremely dicey to cycle even with studded tires (which I have).
The city’s note is: oslo.kommune.no/gate-transpo… We don’t even read your messages, they will go directly to the contractor, and guess what is the Google review score of this contractor? 2.1: g.co/kgs/gqGDjwp
XHS has quickly replaced search engine, travel planning, YouTube for many people, and to some extent including me. Maybe the only thing you don’t do there often is shopping, otherwise it could really be that one app for everything.
Replying to @pretentiouswhat
But right now on XHS there's American construction workers and single moms and grandmas and people who deliver mail, black, white, queer, bi, everything. All of them engaging with citizens of China in a way I wouldn't even think to, asking questions that would never occur to me.
Reviewing my recent travel photos from Tenerife and noticed those taken by Ricoh GR3x are extremely good right off the camera. 95% of the time I can just leave my Sony A7C at home. Only when I need good low light performance and that additional aperture I will reach for that.
I was shopping around again because I only managed to get one Rocket Ron, and we’ve had a really mild winter in Oslo so far. Just noticed that Conti has this new “Premium winter tire for E-bikes" continental-tires.com/produc… Interesting but not available in 20" sizes?
On snow, forget those studded tires and try using something knobbier instead. Such as this one if it fits (57-406). We use these on our heavy duty 4/6 wheel Armadillo Cargo Bike. The knobbies bite much better to the snow than the round profile of WintMara+

This is why high avg speeds matter. The newly launched 1,000km Paris-Berlin HSR service takes 8 hrs because it meanders into many city centers in Germany, unlike China where trains run full tilt on straight alignments meaning the 1,000km Beijing-Wuhan run is done in under 4 hrs. – at Wan Chai District, Hong Kong

Why is every single app made by Japanese companies look like they are from 1990s? What made Japanese software so far behind rest of the world? Do Japanese live in a different world where software design and quality simply aren’t valued?
Looks like Apple Maps cycling routes are available in more cities than listed at apple.com/ios/feature-availa…. Just saw it available in Oslo but it is not listed. Others have noticed that it available in Netherlands for instance.
