Disappointing on a number of levels tnite. Two poor teams however Spurs deserved their victory. Don't get the Madders booing even before a ball kicked. Spoke highly of Cov in the past. Ellis should be fuming not getting his chance. Rushy has to do better with 2nd & 3rd. #PUSB
Imo Gus should be nowhere near the first team atm. Jogging back after attacks broke down. BTA & Rudi decent. We call other fans but Cov end quiet for most of the match #PUSB

David Moorcroft is one of those Coventry sporting names we probably don't make enough noise about.
On 7 October 1982, the Coventry-born runner lined up for England in the 5,000 metres at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.
He won.
Moorcroft crossed the line in 13 minutes 33 seconds, taking Commonwealth gold ahead of fellow Englishman Nick Rose.
But here's what makes that achievement even more impressive.
Moorcroft hadn't arrived in Australia simply as one of the world's best runners.
He arrived as the fastest 5,000-metre runner who had EVER lived.
Just three months earlier, Moorcroft had run an astonishing 13:00.41 in Oslo, smashing the existing 5,000m world record by almost six seconds.
He came painfully close to becoming the first human being to run the distance in under 13 minutes.
He missed it by 0.42 seconds.
And Moorcroft was very much one of ours.
Born in Coventry, he went to Woodlands School and competed for Coventry Godiva Harriers, the club he had joined as a youngster.
His 1982 season was extraordinary. World record holder. Commonwealth champion. European Championship bronze medallist.
He had already won Commonwealth gold over 1,500 metres four years earlier in Edmonton too.
So for a period in 1982, when people anywhere in the world looked up the fastest 5,000 metres ever run by a human being, the name at the top was:
David Moorcroft. Coventry.
44 years ago today, he added another gold medal to the collection. 🥇
Coventry has produced some incredible sportspeople over the years, but this achievement deserves to be remembered alongside any of them.
💙 Who would YOU put in Coventry's sporting Mount Rushmore?
And does David Moorcroft make your top four?
I respect those who follow & love to follow their nation play away. Over the yrs my desire to do that has faded. My work in 80s took me to Belgium for 6 mnths & I saw Forest in their pomp alongwith Anderlecht & Fiorentina. Imo this Int'l break after a long WC has been tedious.

Not sure I've ever engaged politics & #pusb at the same time. Firmly against alcohol being allowed into seated areas at stadia. There's enough on offer before & during games. Extra monitoring by stewards police will be rqd. Stadia have become safer in recent yrs #BurnhamBlunders
When you fire the shots make sure they don't come back & rebound. God knows our thoughts feelings & motives. Our anger judgmental attitude frustrations disapproval & envy has a habit of returning when Jesus says ⬆️⬆️⬆️ correction and repentance can be painful "I knows"
Rudi getting fitter & improving each game.
Looks to have shaken off that 10% that was holding him back after his shoulder operation. #pusb
Controversial for some but I thought it was one of Asante's best games in a Coventry shirt. Everywhere breaking up attacks. Great energy & perseverance. #pusb
Said it for a long time J Dasilva has the best first touch in the club.
Sublime move & finish

@CoventryCityFC
One thing missing from our team is a leader. Doylers are rare but someone akin. John Mcginn a prime example for AVFC. He was in every decision leading by example. He was aggressive he was calm. His communication skills were exceptional we could hear his instructions. #pusb
