You have to admire the resilience and persistence of players like Jay Dasilva, Coventry City’s matchwinner. Quite a journey the 28-year-old left-back's been on. 50 games in League One, 245 Championship, now 5 games in PL. He was a youth star at Chelsea, won FA Youth Cup x3, Uefa Youth League x2 (with Christensen and Loftus-Cheek, Mount and Tomori).
Didn’t make the first-team grade, sent out on loan to Charlton, then loaned and signed for Bristol City, played plenty but also endured stress fracture and shin injuries. Released by Bristol City, joined Coventry on a free. Last season, Dasilva suffered the frustration at Wales losing shootout to Bosnia-Herzegovina and not qualifying for 2026 World Cup. But got promotion, and now a Premier League match-winner 🙌 #PUSB

Problem for me is ‘midfield’ today is Van Ewijk, Onyeka, Grimes, Dasilva, with Rudoni and EMC ahead of them. There is no development and upgrade on the pitch there whatsoever, four games in to a Premier League campaign!?
Recruitment to blame. Too late. Not up to speed.
