Feeling both horrified and saddened by these findings and personal stories, and also grateful for and proud of @gabegabeyeah for his work raising awareness of how frequently Pacific Islanders and SE Asian Americans are killed by police.

Grateful to be a student at the @JointMedPrgrm where our clinical skills curriculum includes @DermDocJennaās critical work on improving dermatological care for people of color
Appreciate longtime mentor and role model @CourtneyRLyles keeping it real when speaking about the additional time and money needed to do community engaged health services research well in ways that are culturally responsive and genuinely center community knowledge and needs
I love hearing from @ucsfcvp all-stars @HilarySeligman @drdeancommxn & @UrmimalaSarkar at @UCSF_IHPS Health Services Research Symposium. Their clinical work research & commitment to community partnership & policy change for health equity are what inspired me in my own career path
Fantastic talk by Cheyenne Garcia of @ucsfbhhi @ucsfcvp on factors associated with exits from and returns to homelessness among older adults at the @UCSF_IHPS Health Services Research Symposium
Some key points below!
Key implications include the importance of preventing homelessness after rehousing, decreasing the criminalization of homelessness, improving data collection, improving access to case managers & extremely low-income housing, & expanding access to rental subsidies
Thank you @MKushel for pointing me to @cheyennemgarciaās Twitter!! Cheyenne - adding you here (apologies I couldnāt find you on Twitter before!)
It was such a treat to finally get to meet @ucsfbhhi @ucsfcvp colleagues @AnitaHargraveMD and @RyanDAssaf in-person at #SGIM23! Donāt miss their posters today!
I didnāt get a picture š but it was so inspiring to end my time at #SGIM23 by joining longtime mentor & research role model @AliciaFMD at SGIMās Health Equity Commission Meeting! Incredible to see a national community of health equity physicians, scholars, & advocates in action
Excited to see @ucsfcvp role models @UrmimalaSarkar @elainekhoong UCSF-RISE alum @SafiyaMD along with @LipikaSamalMD @devin_mann sharing their deep expertise and vision for the path towards achieving health equity in digital health #SGIM23
Fantastic #SGIM23 session on building cross-sector partnerships for housing and health. I especially appreciated that community partners with lived expertise and experience of homelessness were key speakers on the panel. #HousingIsHealthcare
Some key takeaways below!
āYou have to be in this for the long haul, after the grant ends. Use your skills as a researcher to tell stories. Use your role in a healthcare system to make a business case for more resources. And at every table you should have someone with lived expertiseā - @SarahStella17
